Everything posted by I remember Atlantic 252

  1. for wed, looks promising, but models for end of the week trending the wrong way, still FI though,
  2. think he has done same with ECM? fax charts good, GFS looks too far west
  3. true shaky, FAX charts posted in model thread, looks good Wednesday, but things trending west, looks more like yesterdays GFS
  4. Atlantic 252, 00-01 yeah, hate the pond though, but that is our weather in winter, Atlantic air
  5. its not so much rain/snow lines, but the fact wednesdays ppn, looks like staying out west, SM post looked good but was it before 12Z? cos i'm in sweet spot
  6. wednesdays front dosen't even make it this far east, tuesday, just rain and sleet, 12Z GFS gives us virtually no snow, then friday the Atlantic is back
  7. yeah coming from north all rain, tuesday mostly rain, Wed is where the interest is, but ppn does look light,
  8. Rain all the way that, but wednesday seems better? front seems to stall over midlands rather than pushing east, Fridays slider misses us to the west Welcome back Andy! see you're not in leicester now
  9. bbc is showing rain and sleet for me tues, there is a mild sector and front is weak, light snow for Wed am
  10. GFS best for cold this morning, trend seems to be to move everything west, battle taking place, hope to see ECM trending towards GFS instead of powering the Atlantic in
  11. wednesday's snow looks good, slightly further west as well! band looks skinny, but if moves through slowly, then could see lying snow easily
  12. much better that for 9am tues, decent snow into west midlands, looks a wee bit heavier than on 12Z best to use the netweather GFS precip charts, i find those meteociel ones a bit inaccurate, and not high resolution
  13. already at 54 just slightly further west, 12Z for tues, had the mild sector just missing here was meant to be quoted to bigsnow's post, not sure how to unquote it
  14. mainly oop norf, sunday night/monday it's meant to arrive here
  15. Maybe a dusting by tomorrow am? bbc seems to suggest weak band of sleet/snow another band moving down around 4pm will be pure rain, colder air digs in behind this, fergieweather update not too great for here/midlands, only a smattering really tues/wed
  16. 13th Jan 2010, now that's the best angle for a slider, negative tilt, SE wind ahead of front, although Atlantic broke through 2 days later
  17. 2009 horrendous, 20th Dec, Stockport 8 inches, here not a sausage, 5th Jan '10 better around 2-3 inches here, but not a further 8 like Stockport
  18. FAX chart has Tuesdays front over Wales midday, so not sure on that chart if ppn will reach as far East as the midlands, but it would be cold, and no danger of rain/sleet, east wales eastwards
  19. It seems to track too far east, need to be on the eastern side of the low, surely cannot be all snow, just a wintry mix at low levels in the W and N/NW Midlands, most the snow seems to be in the north sea, need the low to track much further west, to keep the mild sector away
  20. Frosty! your posts are like, but yeah, is looking okay for now, 12Z's the key, i will be back on at 6pm ish, hopefully not moaning about westerlies
  21. Easterly best direction for me, clean route for the showers, unlike westerly with the mountains in the way, trouble is, easterlies so rare before April
  22. imagine if the pond was the size of the north sea?, westerlies miles colder than a true beast!
  23. hardly begun yet, winds are mainly westerly, a huge sea track, dosent really begin until tomorrow night, snow chances tue and wed, staying cold until Atlantic moves in fri or sat
  24. What I am hoping for, boxing day mild sector was dry, then a bit of freezing rain, or ordinary spitty drizzle, temp remained at 0.0C, no damage was done to snow cover
