  1. 90's for me at least here, may be different elsewhere, loads of very good snow events, much more than 2000+, may not be classed as cold winters in the stats, but were the best for me
  2. last 2-3 days on EC look good, but will downgrade to low pressure and wet
  3. fallout member and snooker champion won't agree, sorepaw1, I do though ready for warmth now
  4. Maybe no mention? Haven't looked at forum properly but don't like what GFS is showing for Monday, 1st day of half term, full on washout on 00 and 06
  5. know an 87 year old ten-pin bowler who lives in Biddulph! told him Monday night, you're in for a dumping of snow, always gets miles more than here
  6. still too high for snow, this never looked possible at low levels, for snow, around -3 is needed now before front
  7. Joe, yes certainly noticed warmth in sun on 3rd, sure today as well there were summer style cumulus, certainly signs of Spring, still not much improvement in morning light levels, pitch dark still at 6.30am
  8. even up there, I expect a slow thaw during Friday, while we're looking at 9 degrees
  9. too cloudy now for temps to drop, just a steady rise, met office has my area at 3 degrees at 6am, too mild for sleet
  10. Just does not seem like snow, cold air not really here before front arrives, normally need at least one frost and day before clear and around 0 degrees, not 6-7
  11. can compare it to this day, same timing, did get full whiteout until around midday when the thaw arrived, this was also when winter finished for 2010/11
  12. Iffy FAX, big mild sector S of warm front, could really do with slight nudge south, areas N of warm front seeing snow
  13. Still poor on BBC, not a flake being shown for Kings Bromley, temps from 5 to 2, maybe trending right way, but seems to be going off yesterday's EC
  14. Further south on 12Z yes, opposite to last time for 17th Jan, were wanting it further north
  15. Aye, elevation key as always, Stoke tends to do better around 190m asl, 100m or so is often too low for dumpings this far inland
  16. 3 hours heavy snow for me, then light snow then sleet/rain, but with temp of 3, too high for snow still this time of year, March April then maybe so
