Good lord the main thread is a depressing place to be this morning. We are still a good few days off whatever will happen. After Decembers soggy situation I’d like to think we can see some flakes falling this week

Morning
Mod thread starting to fill up with in my back yard posts, excitedly showing charts full of snow if you live Midlands north.
A gloomy start here, currently 4.8c with a lighter wind than last night, felt bitter in the strong NE’ly!
I’m quietly optimistic Lottie! Never know with snow. Let’s just hope it’s better than the snow before Christmas which was awful for us in south east Kent!

Cold and rainy here, north wind so no DP help from the continent for this one. Cloud .ust be low though, very misty with it.
I work in Dover - my lord it was miserable this afternoon. Very misty and murky. Find it always quite magical when the castle disappears through the mist!

Currently got a sleety shower over canterbury. Not much but nice to see

Looks another poor cold spell for us in East Kent. We can’t seem to get a break atm! Hopefully some fleeting showers next few days.
-
As expected cold miserable rain here. Maybe as it clears east and the cold air digs in we might see some flakes?

If we hadn't have had the snow in December, I think more interest would be shown in the upcoming feature.
Snow for some in the SE corner, cold rain also but then it looks to be generally a cold couple of days, decent winter sunshine and some frosts....I'll take that over the mild damp rubbish of late.
Certainly feel the nip in the air this morning.
We had hardly anything here - rain rain rain then a dusting.

We ended up with a decent cover when I went to bed in canterbury considering the day before. About 1-2cm on bins etc. a slushy mix on pavements and roads

Well we got a covering somehow. Looks an ice rink outside. Commute to work will be fun with no trains!

I agree, need an hour or two but the front will be through by then, still looks to me like there were two lows, one in Kent one in Sussex, the Kent one went north then pivoted this one over kent now went from the south coast into the channel then to here now. That's how it looked to me. Will the other low come back down, are they circling each other basically. Probably not.
Is pouring down with rain. This event has been absolutely terrible for us. Ah well. Time for me to log off!

Se winds have kicked in down here, which is what I was waiting for, now let's see if we can bring in some decent DPs.
Does seem to be one last batch about to come in. Sadly think it will still be rain!

Will it snow in East Kent where we've had rain so far?
Sadly not! Can’t see it.

Dew point now hits 0 when the main band is gone. Bust for us! Wasn’t expecting much but could have been a big event

The skies open over Medway…..
and rain falls
Welcome to my world! We have a special type of cold rain. Find it amazing how Ashford has snow and is closer to the channel than Canterbury.

Firmly believe it’s game over for me in canterbury. Pouring with rain. What a let down.

Now rain here. White flag is being shown haha! Enjoy if you have, not east Kent’s day.

More sleet in canterbury. Think I’m gonna wave the white flag soon.

Been dry in Canterbury for over an hour now. Precipitation seems near, hoping it can hold off till it’s dark

It’s definitely a strange set of charts atm. I genuinely think people in that thread expect Armageddon with snow and don’t remember it’s early march!
