  1. You must have had snow in February to March in 2013 from atlantic fronts bumping into cold air. Most of us do although hi remember the fronts stalling somewhat
  2. I hope this is a trend in the models that doesn't vanish . Fingers crossed and everything else. For those on the forum a couple of nights ago. I spoke to the man opposite to me that was lamppost watching. he said to me his grandfather said it was going to snow that night so that was why he was lamppost watching . He is only around 16 and a nice chap . I said there was a great forum and he jotted down the address so he may pop in soon. His name is Daniel so that will make at least 3 Daniels
  3. Ok .giving up now but did see a couple of wet flakes. Was It worth it,no but has been in the past. Take care all be it rain, snow or shine
  4. I won . He has given up. Just waiting for This precipitation and then I'm off . Fingers crossed for snow. Edit - he is back lol
  5. I got excited a couple of hours ago ( same moth ) :-(
  6. Hi Steve just saw this a bit on twitter re Essex weather. Seems strange as reports of some snow on here Outbreaks of rain are starting to arrive across South Essex. Temperatures too high for snow, even on the highest ground. Still not giving up the ghost
  7. Me too as you can probably realise by rise of posts but just lager
  8. I use rain today . Find it quite good sometimes precipitation is not as heavy as suggested but that all depends on atmospheric conditions. There is a bit if a love in calm on the mod thread tonight and even Fergieweather got involved . Great to see. Ps. Thanks to Captain Shortwave , Daniel. ( there's a few) and Steve murr for your input . It may have not worked out this time. (Yet) but without your tiredless energy we would have no forum to post in. THANKYOU. Right .. Back to the lamppost and yes my mate is still there
  9. Now . This is weird I have stars in the sky . The eye in the snow storm?
  10. I think our best hope maybe the squall line (that's the best I can describe it) currently heading towards the reading area . Hopefully it would have some evaporating cooling effect as heavier precipitation. (Only a novice so no shooting please) It's a joy by the way to see this thread so busy. We should all meet up one day and have a drink. Not when it's snowing though. I'm busy
  11. Yep remember him making a forecast and pointing to the camera and saying . "Now that is proper winter weather"
  12. The band from the west seems to be dissipating as it hits towards m25 area. Ps : The other bloke ain't give up yet either
  13. Yep the bloke across the road from me must be a coldie he was lamppost watching for sure . It feels slightly un easy both doing it . but what the hell I'm not moving
  14. So now everyone . This is an upgrade . This man has been lamp post watching all night and fair play to you sir. At least you now seem to have conditions cold enough to snow The front seems to be stalling now and pivoting . Whilst we have a ticket we can still win the lottery even if it is only 20 quid
  15. Had some wet flakes mixed with rain here but nothing falling for now. But we seem to be going in the right direction folks. Maybe .....
  16. Well have lamp post watched the last 30 mins out the window it's been drizzle all be it a tad sleety. I then noticed someone in the opposite window looking across at me as if I was mad. He may be a lamp post watcher himself but I have retreated for now to watch the footie.
  17. Thomaz shafanaker just pointed out for potential snow in the southeast on weds and they were keeping a close eye on it. He is my favourite forecaster anyway ha
  18. This is such a deverse situation . Thank you to all for the contributions to this amazing thread it truly is at the moment for me and surely others a roller coaster of a ride . To all mod thread posters . Thankyou
  19. Hooray our own little mod thread minus the needle. Keep it coming guys we shall not be denied our snow most of us crave . Today it seems viewing models is a wonderful obsession
  20. Thanks Daniel , CS and SK all very informative getting a tad excited now. Should I tell anyone yet? Naaaa still to soon for me
  21. From Fergieweather via twitter W COUNTRY Most likely outcome is deep area of low pressure off to NW UK on 26th moving SE during 27-28th. Track still uncertain, however... A positive for us I think regarding the white stuff but as quoted very uncertain. I've heard many a story of big snowfall around my birthday in my early years especially on my actual birth year 27/12/1978. Can anyone supply a chart . Anyway bit windy out there on my way home and starting to feel festive so I will raise my last beer of the evening and wish you all a merry Christmas
  22. Thanks Fergie for the update. May sound a silly question but when is formal warning territory?. (Not a question to you directly just intrigued as to when certain triggers down the chain of command that may respond to such warnings) Thanks to all that contribute in here I find it both addictive and informative.
