  1. 28.2.c east of High Wycombe, borderline uncomfortable, the weak sun has vanished and all manner of silver and grey clouds drifting over - it's dark to south, towards Berkshire. But the amazing thing is I've just seen zillions of thunderbugs - I mean about 50 or so!
  2. Oh boy, the humidity out there is unbearable. 29.1c, no sun, just billowing vertical white on light grey clouds. Breeze has picked up, thunderbug on the window. Bought the washing in just in case!
  3. Thunder west High Wycombe a moment ago....oh and again as I type much louder.
  4. More cauliflowers than a greengrocers building in the Thames Valley, seemingly shifting north ...maybe north-east. Hazy to the south east. I hope it's going to be an interesting day!
  5. Short but sweet shower just before 4am - three loud booms in the middle distance and a few minutes of glorious rain. I am just washing up at to my surprise I can see a tower cloud quite far away to the west of here - in south Oxfordshire perhaps.
  6. Gone really dark over High Wycombe - west north west of here. (hope this image upload works it's my first go)
  7. Thanks for the link Coast! Update from High Wycombe East: The milky sky has turn that odd light grey-ish silver with the odd blue patch - sun still shining though. Occasional very little dark cloud drifts by. 31.c Wildlife update (because wildlife reaction to weather always interests me!) Squirrels have come down from the tree and are scurrying around on the ground which is unusual in this heat.
  8. This is crazy, I'm looking at 1) work 2) out the window 3) this forum thread and 4) trying to find a simple guide for photographing lightning with a DLSR for newbies. I need more eyes! It's just hit 30.c here and it's oppressive. I just put the thermometer in the direct sun for a laugh and it's reading 48.c The sky is milky but there's a gusty breeze every so often.
  9. Met Office have just issued a weather warning for thundery rain for almost all of England and Wales (except northernmost counties of England) on Tues/Weds. Update likely to be updated to be more specific in terms of areas most at risk in the coming days.
  10. Loads of vertical development cloud here - just east of High Wycombe - some of the clouds are dark. Occasional hot sun but mostly hazey and muggy now.
  11. 7.c. I'd be very surprised if low High Wycombe (Low Wycombe??!! ) sees any snowy action. Wonder if the approaching squall will have a bit of sleet in it though?
  12. Drat. That yellow warning doesn't quite cover High Wycombe. Always the way- we get left out while a few miles away in the hills they can't move for the stuff!! We will get a smattering though,right.....right???
  13. Tiny, tiny feather-like flakes of snow fell for a several minutes about an hour or so ago south east of High Wycombe. For a short time, the flakes fell in full sunshine which was quite strange/beautiful!
