  1. hells bells, we were out walking in the squall line that passed nr High Wycombe half an hour ago - 20ft willow branch down in the park, wheelie bins over, torrential rain.
  2. Sunny all day, lovely walk in the park and around town (ran into a stormtrooper by Primark - you don't see that every day). One big whine though - as late as yesterday Meto forecast darker and darker cloud after 10am and as a result we cancelled a river trip as shelling out to sit on a gloomy river seemed pointless. If I'd have known it was going to be this sunny all day I wouldn't have cancelled.
  3. Working outdoors Mon/Tues next week so had a quick glance at Meto - surprised to see snow symbol for here for Monday morning.
  4. Big fat flakes for 20 minutes or so here enough to give everything a light dusting - only very light snow now. 1.0.c
  5. ********frenzied dancing******** 4.c /DP 2.c It's always a bit disheartening/baffling when you look at your local WU station for one reading...then you look at another one on the same road and it gives completely different readings!!
  6. Light icy, glittery snow has just turned to huge flakes here in the High Wycombe wye valley - beautiful!
  7. You're right - now includes Buckinghamshire, Oxon etc (Bucksnow will be pleased!)
  8. Temp dropped 2.c in a matter of minutes as the rain started - from 5.2 to 3.3.c/DP -1. Very fine sleep rain. Just changed again to 2.6.c....but the dp has risen to 1. I can't keep up!
  9. Bloody nora! I'm sure it wasn't meant to be this cold?? I've just had to scrape ice off the inside of my car!! it was -6 in the night!
  10. Welcome paget Bucksnow -hmm...I don't know if it will snow - DP and temp appear to have risen a little - DP now 1.c. But we can hope!
  11. Looks like you and Katie Wombat are higher than us as we're down on the London Rd and over the years we've just had rain - but that has changed to sleet/snow as we've driven up Hatters/ Cock Lane/ Hammersley etc. It's snowing the tiniest flakes now.
  12. Well that was weird - 10 minutes of rain with large snowflakes in it...not really sleet as I know it (i.e small flakes of wet snow) - people in town reporting it too! All gone now and the sun is out again!
  13. Scary. Area around the River Thames Bucks/Berks border all without power now and will be out for hours to come apparently. Kinda think this should have been a yellow warning? Drivers reporting swaying over the read as recycling caddys/bin lids are flying about causing them to swerve. Having said that, I don't really know what the criteria is for a yellow warning?!
  14. eek! Lights keep dimming. It's 13.9.c now - madness! Locally, people have seen green/blue flashes - substation maybe?
  15. Gust of 37 km/h here - noisy as hell and a few things blown over.
  16. Thunder for the last hour and a half, sometimes near, sometimes far. Saw some CGs and the lights have dimmed.Sat in the car park watching it. It stopped for a bit...then we had 5 mins of rain/thunder...then nothing...then 5 mins of rain and thunder...then nothing... It's lovely...but also this is the second night woken by thunder and I do need some sleep!
  17. Thunder ever few minutes - not directly overhead but seemingly all around. No rain though. Second night in a row woken by thunder!
