  1. Weatherweb.net saying the cold spell old last well into feb 10-15! http://www.raintoday.co.uk/mobile
  2. Is that north lincs as well. Is this from the latest runs????
  3. Well met office for scunny is still showing light snow from Friday 6pm till almost Monday non stop lol. The cold is here and the one thing I've learnt about the weather so far is expect the unexpected! Still lots of time for things to get epic for this region especially if the North Sea is to start getting involved.
  4. How did 2010 snow fall happen. Is it a similar pattern to what we have now?
  5. If the easterly winds pick up could this not increase the possibility of heavy continues showers coming in of the North Sea. Is this not how 2010 occurred?
  6. Like someone stated if it slips further south this will increase the possibility of this cold spell to last and increase the chance of heavy snow showers to come in off the big pond to the east of us and unless I'm wrong. Is this a similar scenario to 2010 not saying that we could get that snow fall? And just to say I can not believe how much the bbc weather has changed since weather view in the early hours !
  7. Bbc and met still sticking to their prediction. Bed time for now after an amazingly cold night shift with some extreme freezing fog. Hoping to wake up to amazing weather warning for this region.
  8. 0140 weather view still going with snow reaching east and staying through Saturday. Did not show further than that. -8.1 degrees dew point if -8.8!!!!! It's been a ccccccold night shift Is anyone able to post up the charts or any details of the snow event that took place in 2010. Would be interesting to look at them and see what created rat epic snow event for our region.
  9. There is a lot of precipitation building off the east coast near the Humber looking at the rain today site!!! But it's not going anywhere!!!!
  10. Poor pics due to mobile phone but here re the cooling towers at work with all the icicles on them. Pics really don't do them justice. Freezing fog out on Risby Top tonight, visibility down to 5-8m. As bad as I've seen it around Scunny for a few years. Current temperature for scunny is -6.7 with a dew point of -7.2.
  11. Don't think they are saying about making sense I suspect a little bit of sarcasm in the post. Apologies if I am wrong ( I usually am) ask the wife!!! Just a note to say I will try and get a photo of our cooling tower at work covered in icicles. Looks amazing
  12. Sure is good. Just loving the real cold winter weather topped up with what ever snow we get.
  13. It's certainly going to be a cold night shift sunny scunny for me. Could also be fun this weekend as I'm 2-10 weekend. Bbc n met showing this area getting snow for a long period. ( not sure if its heavy or not and still time to change) reading on the forum page regarding current models n runs is looking rather tasty for the next week with one person stating the uk is in a perfect position for a snowmageddon event
  14. 12z, is this the midday gfs run? If so where is best to see the results for this??? I'm still not sure how to understand them!
  15. Is it just this Friday the snow as there has been mention on fb about it lasting all weekend and even worse into next week!!!!!!!!!
  16. To be honest I was only going by the national forecast by bbc. I'm still a little lost with the different runs and results hey show.
  17. Well it's all changed in less than 24hrs so I am still holding out it will improve for north lincs and the rest of our region. EVERYTHING CROSSED
  18. Bbc weather still showing it clipping this region where as he west of the country gets the full hit. Any chance this could move further east putting us in e firing line?
  19. I'm guessing north lincs would be a little too easy to get the amber warning at the moment. Still I'm keeping chilled and not getting o excited yet as the first thing I've learnt in a short space of time is how quickly these runs and predictions can change. So if they o change lets hope it's for the better but as someone stated last night are we not better off missing this and greeting it from the North Sea or is it take what we can?
  20. So in the space of watching the weather last not on bbc and going to sleep it has now all changed? And u have just looked outside (yes I'm lazy I have just got up but I am nights tonight) and it looks amazingly cold outside -4.8 according to our local weather station Bbc only showing light snow over our region. Could this change to heavy. In the space of a few hours its gone from none to some! I've only been watching the weather and getting in to it a short slave if time and this is now just clearly showing how crazy it can be to predicting the conditions.
  21. Is this currently one of the best set ups people have seen for potentially something special. Would this be a matter of days or weeks? Also what is a slider?
  22. Sounds like a plan to me. Could this cold spell be sound for a while then.
  23. Just watched bbc national weather and its showing a big snow day this Friday but its doesn't seem to effect north lincs or surrounding area. Hope things change and we get some more snow. Hopefully what we had is only the tip of a giant iceberg.
