Interesting in the MOD thread that the snow which was on track for the far south coast tomorrow is now hitting the midlands. All very very uncertain!

MetOffice wording released an hour or so ago still bullish about snow in the central belt:
Fine start on Thursday with sunny spells, showers then longer spells of snow later with strong easterly winds
At odds to with everything else I’ve seen.

So frustrating eh? Looking at the radar there does seem to be a lovely dark red blob that is better placed to give us a doing.
I even went out to clear the driveway and road to goad the snaw gods a wee bit and encourage them to whump us!
Haha exactly. Smack bang in the middle of the first red warning in years and it’s like a summers day. Maybe later though...

Radar seems to show worst of the snow southern fife rather than central - Glenrothes nowt for the past couple of hours. Hope it changes tonight

Pretty quiet around the Glenrothes/Lochgelly area at the moment. I’m guessing these areas are in line for a pasting later?

Anyone have any thoughts regarding the potential snowfall on Sunday?

Latest BBC forecast seems pretty decent for some snowfall tonight into tomorrow. Anyone got any thoughts on preferable areas?

Snowing really heavily now and some big flakes and is turning everything white pretty quickly. Wasn't GFS the first model to predict the High Pressure this weekend? Looks like it got it wrong then? So was ECM or UKMO closer to the mark? Is there any more snowfall expected over the coming few days?
I see that there is further potential snowfall on Monday when an Atlantic system comes up against the cold air. Does anyone have any thoughts on that?

How does Monday looks in terms of snow north of the border?
I see BBC have advised of potentially disruptive snow but have also highlighted details are very uncertain.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Interesting post from Fergie in Twitter. "Atlantic mobility and mildness not expected anytime soon" according to UKMO. Any thoughts from the more experienced members?

Latest BBC forecast seems to have the snow a little furthe south tomorrow night without really affecting fife. Hopefully it corrects a little northwards in the next 24 hours

I'm much happier with this run, more of us would get snow next week with a real taste of winter which would be a big shock to the system but in a very nice way..
Magnificent Ecm 12z restores hopes of a significant cold spell which is the very least that coldies deserve after the very mild dross so far!!

There is a Greenie high for a short while ridging over to Scandinavia but that is too far north to do us at Watford any good.
I think the best I can hope for on the basis of this is some wintry showers during the course of next week which probably will not settle as lying snow.
Can someone please clarify? Extremely contrasting views and a little confusing to he untrained eye?
