  1. I did see that Erbyskerby!! But I am taking it with a pinch of salt and taking a nowcasting attitude!! Its beginning to get emotional!!
  2. Here is my personal opinion on the situation, and please correct me if i'm wrong. But from what I can tell this is such a rare situation that the models and forecasters are having a hard time forecasting it. However, they have to forecast some weather in fear of being accused of not informing the public of upcoming events. I think in reality the forecasters have in the back of their mind that this could go anywhere and what is forecast is "best guess" This is not an IMBY post, I love the snow but im self employed. If we get some then great, if we don't I can go to work. It could completely miss devon, cornwall, somerset, avon and dorset. It equally could stall over lands end and give them the biggest snow fall in history. I know this is a largely a model discussion thread but so many shifts eastwards and westwards, can anyone really say what will come of this? Anyway, please don't shoot me, just my thoughts.
  3. Looks good on the animation. Dartmoor may come up with a few suprises for us yet mate.
  4. Yet again, very conflicting views for parts of devon from Netweather, BBC and Met Office. I am just leaving it until the day now and hope for snow. If it doesn't come then i'm sure our neck of the woods will have other chances.
  5. It is gottolovethisweather... We have horses on dartmoor and I drive a BMW, both of which will be affected by snow!! Anyway, back on topic, 0.1c.... slight rise in temp, does that mean the front is coming in??
  6. Not sure, but the meat only makes it to the tesco value brand so can't be much!! They do.... just as heinz make tesco value beans!! Anyway, what were we talkiing about?? Oh yeah.... weather!!
  7. Haha!! I am pretty sure I would lose a very important part of my anatomy for a very long time. Talking of snow depths, 2 inches is plenty, my missus tells me all the time.
  8. I know!! He touched on it saying good accumulations non Exmoor and Dartmoor but then stopped at the surf report.... Who wants to surf in this weather??!!
  9. Haha!! Good point.... I would rule your area out just yet. Forecasts all over the place. I saw 2 different forecasts from 2 different BBC presenters this morning. Nothing so far. Bit earlier.
  10. Just down the road then!! I think altitude is on our side here.... Probably won't get as much as the eastern counties of our region but looking to get something at least.
  11. For those in Devon, and cornwall for that matter, David on spotlight said some large accumulations over Dartmoor.... So you are all welcome for a cup of tea and a play in the snow!! I am hoping it stays as snow up here and not turn to rain.... But we will see. Very good, where are you?
  12. I can see that as well. Huge front heading over a massive chunk of the soutwest pretty fast on the radar... Its -0.4 here. Anybody know what this could do?
  13. Wish I could!! I am sure its not over for you.... I used to live in St Budeaux and we still got some there.
  14. Haha!! I am not that much of a rookie!! Just goes to show the unpredictability of all this....
  15. This is a bit random, but its snowing here right now.... Where did that come from??!!
  16. NW upgrade for Devon now, Snow, to sleet and back to snow. Forecast from tomorrow now, weird? But im going to get my salt and take a massive pinch of it!
  17. Hmmm... Looking better but not sure. Anyone else got any thoughts?
  18. That tiny little pixel in the far bottom corner is Princetown Anyway, enough of IMBY for me.... I really hope we all get something in the southwest because we all deserve it after months of mild misery.
  19. Sorry gottolovethisweather! On a more serious note, currently 0.9c and very, very foggy!
  20. Currently -29c here in princetown, where are my igloo friends??!! The year is 2050.
  21. Please don't delete mods, got a genuine question here!! Why Netweather, the BBC and Met Office all have such conflicting views on snowfall? I am at a very high eluvation, is it taken into account when forecasting? If so,which forecast? Netweather showing mostly rain.... we need some of that, barely had a drop last year! If someone could help it would be very much appreciated. Ian
