There have been plenty times here with late cold spells.Last night was the biggest snowfall this season here with 4 to 5 inches on high ground drifting in places.It has probably been the coldest late April since the 80s.1986 was the coldest april and there has not been a colder one in almost 100 years.1981 gave the most snow late in April that has no comparison with enormous drifts a month later than any comparative snow event.Both 1995 and 1996 had snow and frost in May particularly 1996 and there has not been a colder one since,it certainly felt cold as I was living at 340m at the time and worked at 365m .

It is not unusual to have snow in April,even late in the month,it seemed to be more common in the 80s and 90s but maybe you were not around to witness the last week of April 1981,we had blizzard like conditions with enormous drifts,never seen anything remotely like it since,a league of its own !
