Looks to be a steady stream of shower activity coming thorugh Bradford in towards the preston area, judging by the radar.

GFS gone for the breakdown over the last few days, pretty much on its own, it also keeps pushing it back. However i believe that on last nights 00z runs ECM/UKMO moved towards the GFS in forecasting a breakdown in the cold block to our N/E.

This mornings GFR 06Z run still going for snow over the whole region on sunday, lighter the further west you are.

Still Some very light snow ere, adding a little extra dusting though. I think with regards to sunday/monday it nowcasting the best way, meto got the warnings right with regards to heaviest snow, however they and the bbc got the timings completely wrong.

Stephen is the stuff in the Irish Sea likely to move east? Not so sure myself.
Living in Blackpool i would hope so, but if it does looks like heading towards cumbria. Seems to heading on a more north/east track now especiallly on the last hours radar. Hope it does come to us.

The question is, will it be sapped, or intensify or stay the same as it moves north?
Probably start to die off as it moves into chester, be interesting to watch though.

Some snow now moving into Cumbria aswell looks like they might get a late present from the remaining front.

Looks as though this area could make it into the far south of the region IMO.

Is there ANY chance the N Wales blob could go in the same direction towards Morecambe Bay/Fylde/west lancs?
It looks to be fizzling out pretty much where it started, it's not moved much at all.

GFS 12z sunday going for light snow over the whole region, could intensify as it is still 60 hours from now.
Sorry didnt realize thats the 06z chart the chart for 12z not made it there yet.

the front as not fizzled, so liverpool - nottingham and south still getting the snow, at various rates..and likely to continue on for some time.

yes it does to answer your question, apart from northern cumbria etccheers for reply, GFS due soon but i suppose were better off looking towards sunday/monday now and seeing what that might bring.

Meto have us in light snow till nine tonight, before it was only till three, maybe theres a little life left in this yet

Not likely at all,everything moving west now and sinking south,south cheshire still might get some but north of that just light snow!!

What are the chances of the band of heavier ppn over n wales making it into the north west, just kind of sat there for the last hour?.

I live in blackpool and it's almost blizzard conditions here, small flakes but strong winds.
Can't quite believe it actually never really snows here.
