  1. Well thank god for that. A decent 7-8 cm of the good stuff today, clayton le woods. Massive let down last friday after being the firing line of 10-15cm and under a MO orange warning for it to go tits up last minute. I don't feel quite aggrivated now. My 2 year old has thrown her first snowball, built her first snowman and has had her first sledg ride. MO got it spectacularly wrong and only issued a yellow warning as it was stopping! OK so we haven't had snow event on snow event like lots of others but at least we've had a taste. I can sleep better tonight.

  2. I love this regional discussion. Every Winter I look forward to the possible snow. Every Winter (except Dec 2009) we get nothing. I have moaned to the Mrs, the parents, the step parents, friends, work colleagues and my 2 year old. Reading that there are other people who feel like I do is light relief. On Friday a big low worked its way all the way across the atlantic and stopped at Wigan, undercut Birmingham and worked its way up the East! Amazing! The media talk about the NW missing the "worst of the snow". We've missed the BEST of the snow! Idiots! In Summer places get the "best" of the Sunshine indicating snow = bad, sun = good - snow doesn't give you skin cancer or burns your skin. Now snow is moving up from the south and reading the above post its missing chorley again. Rain and wind by next weekend. Rant over.

PS keep up the humerous moaning :)

  3. Just picking up on the breakdown conversation the MO have this as their lont term outlook

    Saturday 2 Feb 2013 to Saturday 16 Feb 2013

"There is greater-than-average uncertainty throughout this period. The most likely scenario is for initially cold conditions in the east to be replaced for a time by less-cold conditions spreading in from the west. At present this is thought likely to be a temporary change in weather type however, as colder weather and below-average temperatures probably come to dominate once more towards mid-month"
