You think the uppers will be cold enough at -6/-8 or are we looking at marginal conditions away from the peaks etc?Fantastic charts for cold and snow for IMBY and other NW parts of the UK, the usual caveats apply though in these cases at this range, with the danger of all this being shunted further East nearer the time. Just for once lets hope not and instead lets see further upgrades for longevity next. Please weather gods be kind to us all, more so for those of us in the NW.
-
Right then. Lets get watchin the next snow event for next friday. Will it be cold enough? Will the ppn reach us or go through the channel? Or will it be all change and milder?

Even Preston may get a dusting, a rare event.
No snow domes for this one folks.

I have to agree - as a newbie it is very difficult to actually follow the models and peoples perceptions of them because dependant on people's bias they will find cold or mild whichever is their preference in that model - in fact as soon as you see the name of a poster you can pretty much work out what their post will say It would be a lot easier for those of us who are new on the boards to get a handle on the whole thing if the emotion was taken out of some of the posts and an unbiased opinion given.
Totally disagree. There are plenty of posts that give objective rational thoughts on the models that i enjoy reading. The odd subjective opinion and from time to time and heaven forbid maybe a bit of humour isn't out of place. Total lifeless objective model interpretation would get a little boring as long as people explain their thoughts with reason its ok in my book. How can you take emotion out of it when its what people enjoy doing.

Its been updated again. There were only a couple of warnings when i looked and now the north west is covered again. No need to be rude - idiot.
-
Met office taken most of north west out of yellow warning zone! Nothing for us as per usual.

Had a good read of all the post here and in the model thred and theres more chance of Kelly Brook ringing me up tomorrow and asking me round for pizza and a 'cosy night in' than snow in Preston/Chorley this weekend.
Its too warm! - Nobody likes snow more than me. Cold rain unfortunately.

It looks beautiful out there. All the branches on the trees are coated because of the lack of wind, Fingers crossed for many more snow events to come - maybe not this year but there's always next :-)
