Can’t be asked to sleep tbh, and I don’t ‘ wish for hurricanes’ if I go through one, I would probably never want to go through one again. Not really related but have we gotten past T on the Atlantic naming list. Last I hear was Tammy.
So it would have been classified as an ex cyclone right
Extra tropical systems normally, they have some characteristics of hurricanes, warm cores, plenty of moisture, and they can pack a punch, but they've transitioned from a hurricane

Ophelia got fairly close to making landfall as a tropical cyclone.
But formed in the warmer waters

Not historically....but as the seas warm and climate change gets worse. Then the risk increases of hurricanes occuring here. Like I said before soon we will have to redefine all Meteorology.
You'd need at least a 10c swing, and our latitude will not support that

Climate change will make that happen. When I’m older, maybe even my kids or grandkids lives the oceans temp over here should be hot enough to tho sustains hurricane
That's going to be 1 hell of a warm up, minimum water temp for a hurricane to form is 26.2 c I think

Yeah, won’t be long before storms have that here
Hurricanes form in the tropics, our waters are nowhere nr warm enough

One min sustained. If so, it can officially be called a cat 1 hurricane

The strongest gusts recorded in Jersey reached 96mph during The Great Storm of 87’ so Storm Ciaran could well surpass those values here

I have to say that I’m a bit worried, I’m right on the coast on my own with my kids. I’m not looking forward to this. Sorry for sounding like a scared little girl
They'll be some big waves on the harbour arm, that's for sure, looking very lively Thursday, potential for some lively weather tomoz as well. Torro have issued a warning, squally winds, lightning etc.

Relentless rain since 10.30ish, and it's still pelting it down now, dread to think what the fields and roads will be like in the morning.

Love it down there. Are there many Peregrine falcons down by the train tracks at Kingswear this year?
Not seen any yet, plenty of buzzards though, I know when they're about, as the crows on the hill opposite, start going mad

Well, it took a few days, but this evening, the heat has done it's usual trick.

I often tend to get the S**ts aswell during hot spells. Thought maybe it was just me lol. Maybe it's down to drinking more water then usual other then that I can't explain it.
I suffer with severe ibs, the heat is like adding rocket fuel to it, so not a fan of the hot weather either

Area 51 is calling! It'll probably keep going for 10+ hrs and make landfall in Sweden...
Whilst doubling in size, every 15 mins, once it gets to the north sea, to end up looking like that scene, from the day after tomorrow, when there's 3 huge hurricanes across the northern hemisphere.

Storm more in Ely direction, rain much lighter
Definitely going full steam ahead for the north sea. Storms seem to like the north sea here, obviously don't like us south easterners.
