Atleast we’re one of the only places in the uk rn to have seen storms today
Was rather hoping for a humdinger, 2nd time today it's not quite worked out, I had a job to Brighton earlier, and was expecting biblical rain, but nothing out of ordinary then.

Got some heavy thundery rain, a few flashes, and some distant thunder so far, a bit disappointed if I'm honest, but nothing I can do about that

As I said, very modest instability over us. Not surprised to see this turning out as I expected it to. Most activity remaining offshore. I’ll get excited when I see 2500 j/KG CAPE being pumped directly N along the whole S Coast from Bournemouth to Kent like July 2015.
What an mcs that was, I had to lay on the kids trampoline, as trees and things were being uprooted etc.

It's all a bit meh

Got to admit, I was expecting things to start happening by now, not much activity going on, think I'll give it another hour or so, then I'll give up lol

The later the initiation, the better for me. Still at work atm.
Can see this going the same way as 99% of the storms, out to north sea

Called a Kent clipper this morning lol, I live nr camber sands, the amount of times I've sat on the sea wall at Jury's gap, and watched it waste away in the channel, then out to north sea is unreal

I ready and raring for later

For similar setups like tomorrow night, elevated thunderstorms generally are most active across far SE UK (East Sussex/Kent). Therefore, I'd like to think you're in a pretty good position as it stands!
No doubt another Kent clipper lol

I would like to visit Florida to see the thunderstorms absolutely, looks amazing. I talk to a few friends in the states though none in Florida specifically.
Been to florida twice, seen plenty of storms over there, once, when I was staying at Disney, we had a severe thunderstorm warning, never seen, or heard anything like it, I was outside, undercover, the rain was biblical, the lightning was like something I'd never seen, and the thunder, constant booms like cannons. Fantastic, then on the 2nd trip, we were at universal, when another severe thunderstorm hit, that was daytime, the structure was amazing, witnessed a beautiful rfd, but sadly no tornado.

That's well recognised; we often talk about Eastbourne weather. The South Downs are to the immediate West of Eastbourne, rising to about 600 feet. This has two effects; firstly there is a foehn-like warming and drying of the air, and secondly, and less pleasantly, it becomes quite a stagnant pool of air in slack weather. If someone lights a smelly, smouldering bonfire on a bright airless day in November, the smoke gets trapped.
The effect of this is, as you say, quite a noticeable microclimate around Eastbourne stretching round the bay to Hastings. Rainfall tends to be less; it's common for it to be pouring with rain in Hailsham and bone dry south of that and Eastbourne and Hastings commonly vie with Jersey and Guernsey, significantly further south, for the greatest hours of sunshine annually in the UK.
I have it here as well, I'm a few miles east of Hastings, I work in Rye, very often Rye and camber are sunny, yet 8-9 miles inland, where I live, will be heavy rain, and low cloud, does make for some interesting weather scapes

I was outside playing football in it in my back garden, perfect weather to play football in.
My playing days are over, but I used to love it when it was wet, I could get away with wiping someone out, with a slide tackle, blaming it on the conditions. Nothing better than a midfield battle in the rain, coming off looking like a pig in sh>t lol. Happy days indeed

Well, it may not be user friendly weather for some, but boy, we do need the rain.

Had very high hopes for this afternoon here, after last night's showing, the rain is very much welcome, but I was hoping for fireworks

Quite a contrasting day, miserable this morning, and lovely this afternoon, sure felt good driving about, with the windows open

Certainly had some rain this week, and last night's heavy rain was surprising, it's still raining now, be nice to have some warmer days etc

Does march have a fog index, and what does it stand for, good storms in summer?
Thick fog here tonight.
Is this like the October fog index

A smattering on the ground, that's putting it mildly. Still, I wasn't expecting anything

As I thought, it's picked up intensity, you can bet your bottom dollar, it'll explode once it gets to the north sea
