    South east was very chilly in feb last year and they had warm temps in march . So we could have both

    Sorry I now it's off subject.but do people put posts like this up in the summer telling people it's gona rain when the forecast is for warm weather .

    I just now it ain't gona get that cold down here in Plymouth,it never does. The last true cold and snowy spell we had down here, when there's no thaw for weeks was 1987 .

    The Gulf Stream can be affected by surface winds as it driven by differences in salinity and surface winds.so if a easterly blows out into the Atlantic it will slow down .

    Would such a long fetched easterly also push the Gulf Stream away from are shores ?If so I'm guessing that could also play a part in how cold we will get .

    I got cold just looking at the that ECM chart,had to look at the gfs quick before I caught hypothermia .

    I don't usually post so please be gentle , a nice big slice of PV coming are way for desert sounds very nice.BUT ecmwf has forecasted snowagedon a couple off times and it hasn't come off .just like gfs keeps forcasting 940mb stormagedon.maybe we should take deep breath and not get to excited .sorry to be down beat but this winters been a no show in my part of the world.

    We didn't see snow lay for well over 20 years down here .then bang we had it two years in a row .( 2009/2010) ) could 30 years this time ,who nows .

    That's it I've lost my faith and the toys are out of the pram .this winters just been one big tease just like every year .not quiet cold anougth for snow but I've still gota put the bloody heating on.grrrrrrrrr

    That's hail from this morning ,we had hail and thunder and its hung around all day .my road in eggbucland has 3 inc of hail on it .

    Had real nasty weather down here today .seen a amazing thunder storm with hail.ive got 4 inch of it on are road .mum said she's never seen anything like .plymouth is nearly grid locked ,a38 is shut.so that's thunder ,hail ,freezing rain,sleet and rain .all we need now is snow and a bit of sun shine .lol

    Well you guys where forecasted rain last night ,we in Plymouth saw some last thurs .seems to me the met are underestimating are chances of snow .

    No warning given buy the met .looking on the radar there's some nice bright colours .could be a interesting drive to work tomorrow .

    It was snowing quite heavy here but it's slowed and the stuff that layed is slowly melting . Aaaaaa so near yet so far
