  1. Really need some snow to cover the ice. Looks like no chance of that streamer heading this far south:-(
  2. Walking the dog is a challenge tonight, all the tarmac is slick with ice. Grass only for safety!
  3. Looks like showers between Wrexham and Whitchurch are covering as roads are getting slow.
  4. Takes the mick, what attitude does Crewe have just down the road to get snow
  5. It's raining and has melted all the frost from the last 24 plus hours. How grim.
  6. I see its doom and gloom in the mod chat for a breakdown next weekend. Christ why don't people enjoy what we have now. Thick frost here, still -2C. We actually didn't dip as low last night as I thought, the coldest part of the night was 4pm-10pm.
  7. Crisp blue skies from start to finish. Sun is starting to go down here and I can already tell the skies will look fantastic at dusk. No melting in any shade today.
  8. Yes, though I do think we squeeze the title given the proximity to the Midlands basically, we are just North West considering how big the region is, but records are records. That said weather wise this year has been interesting. We had the relentless rains of November and now it properly feels like Winter right on cue. Still nice to know we can muster up these cold spells despite a record summer.
  9. Days like today are some of my favourites. Bright blue skies and cold fresh artic air. You cannot beat it really. Down to -1c already. Could be the lowest temps I've seen since moving to Cheshire tonight.
  10. Just caught walking the dog in the squall line, thought it wasn't due until later so foolishly went out. The rain rates were crazy for a few minutes and the wind really gusted, sounded like a freight train briefly. Oddly whilst rain the thunder and lightning stopped but we then had some big flashes as it moved away.
  11. Glad the forecast washout never materialised with Nantwich food festival returning after three years. A muggy day, but nice to spend sitting around eating and drinking.
  12. A superb evening sitting in the beer gardens, comfortable with a slight breeze. But God walking back into our new build, the wall of heat hit us. 29c in the bedroom.
  13. Lovely cloudless skies last night for sunset and today. As alluded to the heat doesn't feel that OTT, even with my failed air con in the car, I just had the windows down with some cross breeze and it wasn't too bad.
  14. It's warm tonight, feels like the night of the heatwave, still 20c even with a moderate breeze.
  15. The grass is growing like mad now along with the weeds. Think I preferred when the growth was stunted, the growth in one day has been quite remarkable. Seems we are into this wet pattern here in the NW.
  16. Just having a walk and it doesn't feel too sticky, stiff breeze is warm though. Presuming temp has dropped from the 38c earlier as I'm sure it felt more intense around lunch. Its very peaceful out though with barely anyone around.
  17. I was unsure a couple of hours ago with that hazy look to the sky, but its cleared up and is just beating down. I've stepped out a few times and plan to go for a small walk when it hits the peak (partly because I never thought I may be able to get the 38C badge on my Garmin watch!) for an activity.
  18. 27C already, the sky is hazy again but sun appears in bursts. I hope we can squeeze 100F today here.
  19. 36.2 in Nantwich. Once again hard to believe but for myself it feels quite nice. I'm lying outside, dog is in the shade and there is a little breeze passing through. Was hoping we'd edge towards 38 but nevermind.
  20. Felt relatively cool at 5am, and managed to cool the house down a few degrees on last night. Quite hazy this morning, even here in Birmingham. Curious to see how high we get today, I'm estimating 38C rather than 40.
