  1. First winter in Cheshire and it produces this beauty. My expectations are low given we are at sea level virtually but today has proven given the right conditions we can have settling snow in daylight hours in November!
  2. Settled well on most roads now, a good 1-2cm and the skies are still dark. Superb.
  3. Fine snow falling on my first winter in Cheshire which is a nice surprise, I was geared up for rain.
  4. It's been a cold day in the wind but particularly as it got dark it really feels cold. There's a stiff breeze which even with a double layer of protection, I still felt cold outside. I've done the Peak District many a time in cold weather but tonight feels up there with those worst winters in terms of cold feel.
  5. One of the disadvantages of moving from Stoke to Cheshire is bloody elevation. Rain here.
  6. Seemed to ease about half hour ago but now with some rain it's ramped back up.
  7. We had a flicker too, brand new estate I'm on too but guess it's further afield
  8. Last hour things have ramped up and the noise is certainly louder. Haven't been out for my evening walk with the dog yet...
  9. Cracking day, 29C here in Nantwich. Certainly a humid feel to the air though which will make it uncomfortable for some.
  10. Very gusty this afternoon especially with an exposed west facing garden. Bright though to compensate, the heavy rain of earlier has eased off.
  11. Couple of good useable days this weekend, not the wash out we feared. Once again the NW summer continues in good stead.
  12. Amazing yes however if you think about it, the more worrying part would be regularly breaking it every year or so. Incredible spell for NI though!
  13. You can see how serious the rain is on the M42 which has several lanes blocked due to flooding. Hockley Heath seems to be the main bullseye. My brother in Shirley reports flash flooding and a mammoth storm.
  14. Clouded over here in Crewe with thick cloud which seemingly came from no where. Shame just as the BBQ was fired up.
  15. Very lucky to dodge any showers all day in Nantwich whilst out walking. It was also the first warm day in ages where a t shirt was sufficient. Threatened to rain this evening but so far dry
  16. Quite the shower passing over in Crewe, heavy rain and hail and it's been torrential for a good 20 minutes.
  17. I think we've had falling snow each month since at least November last year, which is mightly impressive.
  18. A heavy graupel shower passing through Quinton right now.
  19. A real big shelf cloud across Crewe, so dark and threatening. Some hail but nothing spectacular, expected a few flashes.
  20. Another frost this morning (lost track of how many in a row that is now!). The perk of these is the beautiful clear skys we've been having even if it only feels warm in the sun. Better than rain surely?
  21. We've had it all today, snow this morning which settled, then bright sun and it felt actually nicely warm in it and then tonight graupel and hail showers some of which have been heavy.
  22. Snow here and settling on the grass! Can't remember settling snow in April before!
