  1. Big flakes now and settling well. Looks pretty even if it amounts to very little.
  2. Appears we have more chances now of catching a shower including one now dropping icing sugar snow.
  3. Look like we may miss out on the worst again today, west of Brum looking good again.
  4. Forecast is 4c tomorrow but today it stayed frozen out the sun all day. Seem to be overcooked somewhat.
  5. Looks like Stoke doing well from the showers again. Typical I'm not living there this winter! Solihull lovely and frosty though and sunny
  6. Remember that day well as it was my birthday and I was off work which meant I could enjoy the snow. That band went right across the A50 corridor too but was very narrow.
  7. First proper overnight freeze here for a while, temps have been below freezing the past few nights but tonight everything is starting to freeze with some nasty ice on the side roads.
  8. Finally we get a decent shower which has coated the place. Rapidly melting now though!
  9. Keep getting a mix of snow and rain here in Solihull depending on the intensity. Not good for this area so far and the days ahead look less likely now.
  10. Seem to be on the eastern fringe here in Solihull, its fizzled out and given a dusting. The M5 and M6 corridors are doing very well.
  11. Snow here in Solihull, getting heavier but not settling just yet.
  12. Yes it's very weird outside, strong gusts but extremely mild.
  13. Today was a tale of two halves really, torrential rain and strong winds this morning making it miserable but once the front passed it was a lovely end to the day with a big full moon.
  14. Two stunning days, yesterday was perfect hiking weather with the dog and today for sunbathing in the garden.
  15. How did they predict the storm surge so wrong? About 4-6ft rather than the 20ft quoted. Do they get a bit exaggerated to get people to leave?
  16. Is this the first named storm in Summer?
  17. Thunder and heavy rain in Quinton, Birmingham right now. After such a dull start, these always come as a surprise.
  18. Bit of a contrast today with temps down about 10C. The sky is heavy but with that persistent type of rain, so disappointing when 25C+ was forecast.
  19. Looks like the Solihull storm has largely passed. No shotgun thunder from that but some impressive lightning and continued rumbles.
  20. Already at 30C in Solihull. Humidity making it feel worse. We had hotter on Friday 31st July but there was a breeze and it felt like a dry heat.
  21. At least a Yellow Lightning warning would have been better.
  22. Moving away now just a shame the thunder wasn't louder. It deserved some big booms to accompany the epic lightning
  23. No real loud thunder but the winds are gusting and rain pouring and the light show is amazing.
  24. Yes this storm is very silent, but the lightning is Fantastic
