I think that the forecast was pretty much spot on (up to now) as on the BBC radar the snow fizzled out over the North West during the morning and only intensified (or the other front joining) later this afternoon and overnight.
Yes, it was a disappointment to see SO much snow fall and 90% melt on impact, but hopefully tonight with lower temps and lower DPs that we should get a nice cover. Who knows eh?
I'm at work at the moment, what are the latest BBC weather forecasts showing?

Righty, Im falling asleep here so I may have a few hours nod and then see how it is later in the night! lol
-
No idea mate. Not really been concerned with wind strength
LOL, I meant for the snow, drifting, and the general coolness of the violent gusts!
-
Any idea of when the winds are meant to peak etc?

Well I've been ill this week with a stupid virus (starting to regain some voice lol) but I'll see what time I can manage. Probs about 3.
I have to be up at 7am for work so 2am is a DEFO cut off point...........

Aye!
Been waiting for you to join in on Netweather for a while Ben. Much more fast paced over here I think. Some great personalities too....Including Jordan and his infamous dodgy sensor and sock eating escapades.
I like TWO still for its more laid back approach too though. What's wrong with a bit of both eh?

You can tell when the snow is starting to stick and get heavier as the sky slowly turns more orange!
-
Told ya Racking up against the east facing fence already aswell.
It's so great to see it blow away etc and this is just the start!
Do you remember the days on MSN chasing each snow shower on the radar! haha

I know Im just repeating my earlier post but I cant believe in literally 10 mins outside was wet, with NO signs of it sticking anywhere and now its easily laying on previously wet cars and even the grass now. So cool to see.

Car going white very gradually here
Let's have a snow-off!!
EDIT - No way, I literally got in a few mins ago and everything was just damp with no signs of sticking (I even checked the cars too) and now, literally 5 mins later the cars are starting to get covered! :o
Must have dropped that extra degree or so too.

Belting it down here
Nantwich is just lots of small wet flakes! lol

Paul Blight has given his analysis on UkWeatherworld
I know a few people have asked this but please can you paste his post in here as we can't view it and I'm quite intrigued to see what he has to say.

Woo Ben, glad to see you over on this forum!
Hey! I've been lurking (MO Thread) a long time but I'm still a firm TWO-er! haha but I like the regional threads over here. Whatver happens it sure looks exciting!
-
Exactly my thinking. Even I'm nervous here in S Cheshire! Though would rather be here than somewhere like Stockport in this situation!
I agree, but for once we are in the best spot we could be considering everything involved. The hills around us are always going to get the full whack but again for once we are right in the firing line of whatever falls out of the sky. Been checking the Dewpoints, Thicknesses on Weatheronline for Cheshire and it's looking more pro snow than not. Definitely exciting times whether we get a few cms or a lot more.

It is quite funny how a 'North West' hole has appeared on the radar!

Whats on with us eh? Lots of precipitation about, but everyone else seems to be getting more and lower temps!
The thing that has me still clinging to hope is we were still in the updated warning area today for tonight, I have a feeling it may stall and pivot over us.
