  2. snowrye Saw your words & went straight to radar and it indeed shows snow in Dartmoor. Not the only place either, Lake District on the tops and the Welsh are getting in on the action
  3. Mostly a sunny day. Went a bit cloudy for a couple of hours this afternoon but back to bright sunshine by 4pm with a top temperature 15.5°C at 15:17. Current Temperature 11.2°C so don't hold much hope for single digits tonight.

  5. Today's High Temp 16.3°C at 15:15 Sunny skies all day & a top temperature just over 16c. A little rain overnight, Today's Rain 0.6 mm which kept the temps up to around 10c. Now we continue with the clear skies and the temperature dropping at quite a pace. Current Temperature 10.1°C
  6. Wynn D Woo It makes sense really because the first day of Spring is marked by the vernal equinox (Spring Equinox) which this year is March 20th, 2024 and the clocks go forward 11 days after. Thus for us in Europe: Spring is deemed to start at the Vernal Equinox (near 20 March) Summer at the Summer Solstice (near 21 June) Autumn at the Autumn Equinox (near 23 September) Winter at the Winter Solstice (near 22 December). https://www.rmg.co.uk/stories/topics/when-does-spring-start In 2024 the clocks go forward on 31 March at 1am. https://www.rmg.co.uk/stories/topics/when-do-clocks-go-forward

  10. Today's Low Temp 1.6°C at 0:18 That temperature was before the Barometer sunk it's reading and it began raining at 2:00am when it raised its warmth to a measley 3c. These are the readings right now. The Barometer is on its way back up and the current weather is broken clouds with sunshine Temperature 5.3°C Humidity 90% Dewpoint 3.8°C Wind Chill 4.6°C Wind SSE Barometer 990.2 hPa & Rising Slowly Today's Rain 8.4 mm
  11. Today's Low Temp -2.2°C at 5:50 Dipped quite low just before the Sun came up. Been a lovely sunny day here so far, a tiny shower at approx 10:00am then back to sunshine. Guessing you are getting all of the showers down near the southern coast.
  12. Finally for February overnight temperatures, we have left the anomalous rises to see a more normal drop into the Sub-zero realm. Now can we have some SNOW please? It's WINTER after all lol Temperature -1.4°C Humidity 95% Dewpoint -2.1°C Wind Chill -1.4°C Wind WSW

  15. Sprites Guilty m'lord It is actually the broken signal given out by the local Radar and the effect you speak of is caused by 'radar clutter'. permanent echoes or reflections from hills and buildings (known as clutter**) <------ Sourced direct from Rainfall radar WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Weather radars send out electromagnetic pulses to measure the location and intensity of precipitation - including rain, hail and snow - in... It was @Jo Farrow who kindly explained the details but I've been unable to find the information that she posted. Sorry

  17. lassie23 I never throw my toys out of the pram. Leave that for the peeps in MAD thread Temperature 10.3°C Doesn't look like it will get anywhere near sub-zero tonight.
  18. Vortex3929 Dark theme is still here, happy about that no matter what they do lol Temperature 12.3°C Humidity 86% Dewpoint 10.1°C Wind Chill 11.3°C Wind W Wind Speed 12.0mph Barometer 1022.9 hPa & Falling Slowly Not entirely unpleasant out there as it's not raining. It's basically the same as yesterday, windy dull overcast.
  19. Temperature 12.2°C This morning had bright sunshine winning against the racing clouds. Since lunchtime the sunshine has lost the fight and we just have windy grey cloudy skies. So boring...
  20. snowblind Seriously thinking of taking notice of that. Only change into Autumn/Spring duvet at 7.5 togs but even that is becoming too hot in the depths of Winter. I notice the temperature climbed from 1.5c at 19:00 (7pm) last night lol See graph below... What a way to welcome in February 2024.
  21. lassie23 hahaha I was too busy yesterday to find enough time to catch up with the MAD thread so do appreciate the updates posted in here. May go read today for the giggles as models have given naughty data for early today
  22. snowblind Glad someone else has noticed exactly this. The stats indicating the swap of the overnight temperatures in January & April is very interesting. I can only go on my experience of 'feels like' but have noticed that it's warmer more often in January. April has been colder with change of duvet not happening until at least the end of the month more often than not
  23. lassie23 Be careful how you answer this Are you the reason for my 'funny turn' ? OR Are you feeling a bit cold? lol Sounds as if the models have got interesting. Maybe time to get excited and go have a read through the thread
