  1. Today's Low Temp -3.4°C at 6:09 Got reasonably low. Guess we wait until late week when it should dip again For the record, I have never seen the temperature dip below zero when it snows, it's always up to 1c or there abouts. The Dew Point is a different story and is always below zero, the lower the better That's what an Easterly is good for in this neck of the woods, not snowfall lol
  2. Today's Low Temp -1.9°C at 2:00 By 05:35 a.m. we raised back to zero. The drizzle rain arrived by 08:00 a.m. raising the temperature to 1c, it is now 6.7°C
  3. Today's Low Temp -0.8°C at 7:10 <----- Was the temperature reading this morning, first time this end of the year that we have hit below zero. Began to slowly dip past zero by 05:00 am. Will be interesting to see where it goes tonight and in the morning as it's reading Temperature -0.2°C already, went down to zero at 20:15
  4. NE airmass, lowest temperature overnight was at 5:36am -1.6c, we are definitely into minus numbers, so it begins
  5. Interesting information from Nick in that piece. Particularly the following which I had not heard with regard to an Indian Summer in its original locale of East Coast, North America. 'According (to) an American Weather Historian, David Ludlum, it is said that in some areas that a true Indian Summer cannot occur after the first frosts of Autumn, a period known (as) a Squaw Winter.' I know that it does not relate to a UK spell of weather but interesting none the less.
  6. Tiny tiny flakes lightly fluttering on a brisk wind have just begun here in the Chilterns Temperature 0.8°C Humidity 81% Dewpoint -2.1°C
  7. Over in Cheese'n'Ham here so sounds as if what we had did move West to fall over you Fingers and toes crossed for overnight to deliver
  8. Snow has stpped falling here in the East Chilterns, was great seeing it fall and settle for 30mins though, ready for the next lot now
  9. Temperature 2.0°C Humidity 93% Dewpoint 1.0°C Wind Chill 0.8°C Wind NE Big fat flakes began falling here approx 15 mins ago ?️?️ Settling on tarmac and grass although not falling heavy... Yet
  10. Great big goosefeather flakes dumping down a few inches in just over an hour Began snowing at 9:30am and is still coming down now albeit it 'normal flakes' now taking us to approx 3 inches so far...
  11. Here in the Chilterns we have so far escaped anything but a normal wet day really. Temp at the moment is 10.2c, there are no sparks or thunder to be heard but it is a bit breezy along with the drizzle and light to moderate rainfalls. Will be interesting to see amounts later on, not just here but around the region. Take care those of you being struck by deluge!
  12. Snow Began as rain about 20 minutes ago, 10 mins later it is snow with flakes now getting bigger about size of 20p
  13. Really wasn't expecting to see anything but a vague smattering so was chuffed at 10pm when flakes began and settled straight away Took a few snapshots after midnight then a few more a short while ago as it has been snowing since it started and still is, for now.
  14. Cold air is certainly around us, current temp is -7.7°C with DP -8.3°C That is now the coldest temp recorded here for 2019, will be interesting to see just how low it reaches as it is still dropping. The predicted fog for here tonight has yet to appear although hope it stays away as the dark clear skies are pretty I don't expect to see much if any snow tomorrow though, we had just a dusting from last nights passing front and the NW > SE movement is certainly more favourable for here. Will be glued to the radar and crossing all fingers and toes for all you guys and gals in the South though, don't forget to post those pics for those of us up here looking for a floating snowflake on the wind
  15. Been snowing here for a few hours but has only just begun to settle on paths
  16. Current temp is now the correct side of -5c for us to be cooling down the ground ready for the NW > SE push so all fingers and toes crossed for some flakes during he coming days!
  17. It was great and every part of it was reminiscent of the 80's. Night time with some crashy booms and forks amongst the strobing which lasted a few hours. pure joy! Let's have some more please all summer please lol
  18. To be fair it wasn't that noisy just a lot of constant rumbles. Not one shotgun thunder heard here just down the road but some fantastic IC forks seen, which was great
  19. WOW! What a fracking storm It's been a been a lonnnnnng time since July 2013 but the hills finally got one and yeah it was worth it! Tried to take photos but failed jumping between windows to my south, west and then north so opted to take video, it was everywhere forking and so bloody good Will post vid and/or stills after uploading IF they are worth it *nods* so gutted to watch on Blitzo that all systems died out as soon as dawn broke but hey maybe and hopefully the sparks will fly over the next few days for us all

  21. Currently : Temperature -8.8°C Humidity 92% Dewpoint -9.8°C Wind ESE Tonight is the record breaker for this year now as it was held by Feb 12th dipping down to -6.9c How low can it go
  22. As an app, I can't fault it really. Have been using it for approx 15 months and it will send a notification a short while beforehand warning of 5 minutes of Drizzle beginning in the next ten minutes. It does drizzle for 5 mins too That hyperlocal warning is extremely handy and all of it's other benefits seem to be pretty spot on too, the wind direction, temperature (including feels like temp) , dewpoints, humidity, precip % and of course the radar. Very occasionally it has actual weather type a lil off but one click report with actual weather type is all that's needed if you can bothered. Use it for the free period and have a play about and enjoy it, that's what I did Spent the 3 quid afterwards because I didn't want to lose it's use, good luck and have fun!
