  1.  Wynn D Woo It makes sense really because the first day of Spring is marked by the vernal equinox (Spring Equinox) which this year is March 20th, 2024 and the clocks go forward 11 days after.

    Thus for us in Europe:

Spring is deemed to start at the Vernal Equinox (near 20 March)

Summer at the Summer Solstice (near 21 June)

Autumn at the Autumn Equinox (near 23 September)

Winter at the Winter Solstice (near 22 December).

In 2024 the clocks go forward on 31 March at 1am.

    1.6°C  at    0:18

That temperature was before the Barometer sunk it's reading and it began raining at 2:00am when it raised its warmth to a measley 3c.

These are the readings right now. The Barometer is on its way back up and the current weather is broken clouds with sunshine 🌞

alexisj9 Looks like maybe we're missing most of the showery conditions here with the Barometer reading Steady pressure. Guessing you are getting all of the showers down near the southern coast.

  4. Today started off with grey skies and by lunchtime it became bright with sunny skies. Sunshine remained throughout the afternoon until darkness took over 🌞

The temperature has been a Borefest with hardly any changes in temperature since midnight:-

It is actually the broken signal given out by the local Radar and the effect you speak of is caused by 'radar clutter'.

It was @Jo Farrow who kindly explained the details but I've been unable to find the information that she posted. Sorry 😔

  6.  snowblind Glad someone else has noticed exactly this. The stats indicating the swap of the overnight temperatures in January & April is very interesting. I can only go on my experience of 'feels like' but have noticed that it's warmer more often in January. April has been colder with change of duvet not happening until at least the end of the month more often than not 🤷
