Temp fallen down to freezing point now here, plus last throw of the dice on Sunday to see any snow falling for a week so, judging by what the models are showing.

Light dusting, grass still looks green, temps at 1.2c, but expected to reach 7 or 8 degrees overnight with the wind and rain.

Looks like those idiots have backtracked on any snowfall here tonight, so i think this my last post today.

Well you lot were lucky, had nothing but a sleety rain shower here about an hour or ago, still dosen't look much in the pipeline, but i'm beginning to think that a covering of snow will out of the question, but you never know things may change. Anyway it's dry but cloudy at the moment & temp is at 2.5C

Looking like something may happen, but it looks like it's dying. Temp at 4.6C.

It might be, well yes it is moaning, that with decades of data and information these weather pros still don't realise that almost all of the time, certainly in winter, that any showery activity (unless it's a more organised trough), rarely delivers any substantial precipitation to the east of high ground, they but continue to persist in forecasting it, is this just in the off case it does prevail, but most people on sites like this are not surprised when little or nothing occurs, i might be wrong but i've always noticed it to be that way. That's it rant over, still sunny, breezy temperature at 4.0C, so snow unlikely, so if anything falls, just expecting rain or sleet showers - at the moment.

Radar looks a bit sparse at the moment, haven't seen anything "wintry" yet, sunny at the moment, can't see much in the way of preciptation downwind. I think we're grasping some pretty thin straws here.

Local BBC site for my area has removed most of any snowfall for tuesday evening/night, that'll probably change to a raging blizzard later. It's a good job most people ignore those things.

The MetOffice's latest warnings have the far North Western corner of the West Mids conurbation in their warning map, which just about covers my house. So i'll just have to wait and see what falls and/or/if anything settles, so it will definitely need lampost watching tomorrow evening.

Seeing how the weather is behaving at the moment, 3 days ahead seems too far, as last friday's GFS's output of this atlantic storm many of us are concentrating on.

GFS looks as if still going to end up the same, but that is in 10 days time.

I agree, it just depends on how heavy it is and the length of time it falls for.

That low still isn't nailed on yet as it hasn't developed yet, let alone it's depth and direction, i was merely commenting on the type of precipitation expected next week by many different models.

Looking at the current output for this region, a dusting of snow was the most we can expect, though with the winds and temps, that seems more and more unlikely. I've never known snow to settle with temperatures above freezing overnight, it's just becoming more farfetched with each output.

It really isn't worth looking much more than 5 days ahead as we all know what can and has happened.

Sorry did i say wednesday, should of said tuesday daytime to wednesday, but just looking out of the window to lamppost watching for 36hrs, would be better.

Be surprised if i any snowfall from this, may get a sleet shower on wednesday, but that's that i'm afraid, going by the local bbc forecast, which has been quite accurate.

I think forget snow on Wednesday Evening /Thursday morning here, temps touching 10C on the 114h chart.

The Welsh guards will be protecting us from any major events, local forecast is still saying mainly dry and breezy with a westerly breeze and temps around 4 to 5C. Wind needs to veer more NW to feed us showers through the Cheshire Gap for some sort of accumulation of the white stuff to occur with any of the heavier precipitation. It will be quite severe further north and west of here, but at the moment, locally it doesn't seem that bad, but it is still 4 or so days or so away, so i think it's best just to be patient, and wait for the event to begin, as there may be a few surprises in store.

Nowt gonna settle or indeed fall much here in the west mids, according to the national & local charts and forecasts. Looks just cold, bright and windy with the odd wintry shower - at the moment.

By the time we get to next wednesday.The Midlands, East Anglia, the eastern side of Northern England, and all of Southern England looks like it will be sheltered/missing from any snowfall - if those charts are accurate and come to fruition that is. Time will tell, and just a small tweek in wind direction can make a huge difference.

Nah, looks like good old fashioned light rain or sleet, bbc site has taken 3 snow symbols down, though temp doesn't get above 2C and stays cloudy all day. Though those are automated, so best best just looking out the window for anything falling, whether it be white or wet.
