Beware this way well be pushed south run by run.

Very intrigued by the BBC's snow map, and the difference between Telford's and Wolverhampton's snowfall times, and Telford seem to have it longer & heavier, but they are further north and west of here, which is the direction of where precipitation is approaching, quite odd. Oh, and the weather currently still moderate snow with a strong east or north-easterly wind, temp, -1.0C.

Has anyone seen the latest warnings from the Met-Office regards snowfall in the last hour or so.
-
Temp dropping rapidly, now at -1.6C.

I’m sure this is nothing to worry about but temps seem far higher than forecast, 1.6c in Solihull currently, supposed to be -1 at 9pm according to original forecast earlier??
-0.8C in Wolverhampton at the moment, cloud is breaking up here now, temp has dropped 0.3C in the last 15/20 mins, so it's just patchy cloud.

Local forecast for Wolves is now showing/saying just light snow on Sunday now so at this rate of retraction (today included), i can suspect those warnings could well be in the bin come Sat. afternoon.
-
I think that's it here locally now today in terms of snow, just wait until Sunday now and see what falls out of the sky.
-
This could still go t**s up, so we need to calm down and wait for the actual event to begin.

Nothing falling here in Wolverhampton at the moment, and by the look of that radar, i can't see it hitting me this afternoon either, by the of it there could well be another pulse that will edge slightly further east of Wolves. Just had a call from my wife in Telford, and she has been told she has to leave work by 12.30, so it is falling very heavily but also very isolated in terms of intensity, because as i'm typing this there is bright sunshine and not a flake in sight, but just a slushy mess n the ground from an earlier shower. Temp still only at 0.4C.

No thunder or lightning here, just a few spots of rain.

Er, not really a gardening fan, but i was kindof hoping (rather than expecting) for activity above, it's always dangerous for that, as living where we do (the Midlands), it more often that not never happens and end up being a bit peed off.

Best thing is keep your eyes and ears open and keep getting any info from sites like these, the results may be less disappointing than the official one/s.

At least you didn't just miss them, but I agree the forecasting yesterday was bad, woke up to 20mm of rain when only patchy showers were forecast! In my case however, not a rumble heard despite an MCS being literally 10 miles from my location, not to mention all the other storms we missed in the past. I would personally rather live in Scotland and have less storms and more snow than here which has no storms and no snow.
At least you got a bit of rain for the garden (if you like gardening that is), a similar forecast was made here, and we didn't have a drop, but we did have plenty of cloud.

There's a fragile line trying to develop from Cornwall/Devon up to South Wales, one to watch maybe, but it doesn't look too potent at the moment.

I really hope so! Cos if I get nothing again I'm throwing myself out my third story window..
That's a bit extreme, i don't think we've had a decent storm here for more than 2 or 3 years now, i can't remember much since my op!

There's a big storm kicking off around the Dutch/German border at the moment.

Just now, Nick L said:
Why? Because you personally didn't get a storm?
No, because the forecast's just haven't been very good, with all the latest computers, etc, today for example, it was meant to be bright with sunny spells on and off most of the day with a slight risk of a isolated storm, and it turned out to be cloudy all day plus the local forecast, changed almost every hour, to me that is not a forecast.
-
I think the metoffice should take the word "forecast" out of one their descriptors, as some their predictions have been abysmal.

Looks like the met-office has overplayed the storm activity for today, not for the first time either, hope i'm wrong, but it looks like a no show.
-
The wind looks to of turned more to the south-east, and the sky looks lighter, so the cloud cover may have a chance of breaking up a little.
-
The northern half of Wales "may" start to light up soon.

The only thing that will sound like thunder today here will be the bin men.
-
For any of these storms to brew there has to be some surface heating and currently (at least here in the west mids) it's covered in thick cloud with little heat reaching the surface, so unless this cloud cover dissipates in some way, then i think many on here (including me), are going to be disappointed.
-
Light ESE breeze here, thick cloud with drizzle, temp at 14.4c, storm shield remains strong, they seem to do a hop skip and a jump here, and by-pass the area completely.

Yep, getting lighter here now, can't see this lasting all day. It's just another (not classic) but still Met-Office cock-up.
