Sky just looks, just i dunno too dirty for any heat to penetrate to the surface for any heating.

Seems to be dying a death as anything gets close here.

Nothing here, all day, sky starting to break up now. Can see on the countrywide radar, hefty rainfall over SW England at the moment, though that is nigh on 200 miles SW of my location.

Where is the rain we were all supposed to be having? Nothing over here.
Looks like it's getting squeezed like a teabag before it reaches anywhere near.

No sign of that 4 day calamitous breakdown in our heatwave yet, as per various media outputs. Fairly overcast here, but still warm, temp at 23.8C, humidity at around 50%.

Anyone noticed that the lightning strikes are increasing and getting closer here, but may well be too far south to hear or see anything.
-
Swing in wind direction to a more west south-westerly, temp fell - not a lot, but dropped by 1C in last 45 minutes.

Same as yesterday now - 36.3C, can see high cloud drifting in from the S/SW now.

The Met Office, in their infinite wisdom(!) are not going to count the Emley Moor minima as it reached a lower temperature after 9am yesterday. Stupid.
Selected priority, like national forecast maps a huge area of land - known as The Midlands, tends to be missing or omitted.

I'm quite happy with 36c. No complaints here.
Snap, exactly the same here.

Still temp still creeping up, at 36.3C, and humidity very low at 25%.
-
33.6C creeping up with partial cloud cover, very warm, but forget records here.
-
Haven't broken 28C yet, going to be warm/hot, not expecting 38C at the moment. Some lumpy clouds forming to the west moving eastward as well now.
-
No records gonna be set here, still "only" 26.8C, never likely to really.
-
Temp over 28C at the moment in N Wolves, no sun, sky bright at times, had a few very brief falls of "rain", but disappears within minutes., odd setup , humidity not especially high either, may (or not!) a be a sign of what to expect in 5/6 or 7 days time.

Mid to high level cloud trying to roll in, as it did yesterday.

Saw a few houselights flashing off and cars flashing giving way politely, other than that, nothing other than a few spots of rain falling from above, been a while since we had a full on storm here.
-
These clowns at the BBC need to get their act together as it seems that the only rain falling out the sky is falling on my garden. Same happened last weekend when just a small amount was due to fall over a couple of hours, but it rained all day, experts my ar*e.

Something may be growing to the south of here, don't want to tempt fate, but worth keeping one eye it.
