  1. Like watching a repeat on TV for something really eventful happening. You know the outcome but still wish it happened differently.... typical example. missed penalties in England matches
  2. Bitterly cold this morning in SE London and even Westminster. And yet it just about sums this winter period up that no matter how cold it was overnight, there is hardly a frost to be seen here. Can't even get a cold northerly blast to give us something that 'looks' like winter, Doh! As mentioned earlier this morning, the air is too dry for frost. Even my breath is not showing as i walked along to work this morning. Still, i made up for that by having a fag and blowing the smoke out
  3. radar showing snow down to Milton Keynes. didn't think it would get that far south. maybe london might see some this morning
  4. And given the infrequency of you posting model related posts i tend to take note more of your thoughts than others posters here. Good to see your opinion/view on the current situation
  5. Yeah all going south just watched Fleetwood Mac on sky arts for the umpteenth time...'songbird' still the greatest song ever
  6. sometimes the A1M was so bad even the hard shoulder was unsafe as the trees laden with snow were overhanging into it. worst weather though was strong winds. saw a motor biker blown across carriageways in cross winds a few times.
  7. I drove for 3 years to work . Woolwich > North Circular > M11 > M25 > A1M > Henlow (RAF Base) in the winter I would get to work and some colleagues would call in. saying they were snowed in. My boss used to say ""but Mick has made it to work..."" they were best not pleased with me my journey was 80 miles each way a day. learnt every single pot hole on the M25 and knew every different route between home - work and vice versa
  8. There is a lot of 'hanging hats' in posts above. Is that because people are looking too far ahead? in the coming days we have a full on northerly, a channel low which might be more north than south, ppn likely to be snow in the north and possibly the south depending on the low, sub zero windchill or 'feel like' temps and wintry conditions for the next 3-5 days. Hey! it's winter in the UK lets be happy that at least it 'feels' like winter and not autumn regardless of what a computer model tells us
