basically now I see clouds in distance. From my window the clouds are moving from left to right, I checked using my phone's compass the bearing, so the clouds are going from south to north, which makes sense as thats the jetstream direction. So frustrating, I can see clouds in distance, but I am too far east of them, and they moving north not east. Leicester out of reach as usual, the clouds we had here were gone by midday. My parents on the east coast in norfolk however say its heavy rain there. As I was going to say with todays hot temps the jetstream is more west than predicted and the east still has hot spanish air but my parents weather doesnt back that up. Although my mother said dispite the rain its very hot there. But yeah that cloud in the distance has been there almost all day moving north I think was one short spell I seen it broken up, its thick heavy cloud. But overhead here its clear blue sky. So whoever is under that cloud had nice cool weather all day. its possible some other parts of leicestershire did get rain, I am in the city area. Where I was it did get cloudy and cooler but didnt rain sadly. So seems I got close but no cigar. There has been times where I seen rain radars show rain where I am but its sunny. Left scratching head when I See them.

where are you reading temperatures from? I am telling you sitting here its no way its as cool as wednesday which peaked at 22C. just put thermometer out again 27.6, accuweather stating 25, it predicted 20 for wed. Even the MET office says 24.

are you in leicester? or looking at reports? Its been dry until this morning had a very short shower. was dry all last week at my street, it did get cloudy but no rain. its also defenitly hotter than 22C today. wed peaked at 22C and today is way hotter. accuweather even upped their estimate to 25C and the have been udnerestimating all month. What temp readings did you have for leics yesterday? it hit 31C yesterday.

any idea why midlands doesnt get these downpours? always seems to be west or east , maybe south east but never midlands. just dies before gets here. also why do you guys like scorching weather lol, you dont find it uncomfortable? right now got blue sky again yesterday predicted 24 for today, I just measured 27.9 outside and now they changed prediction to 25 although thats still off.

the rain lasted probably 2-3 minutes. Now clouds are light sun peakng out every now and then but more importantly its suddenly getting hot. This is going to be way hotter than wednesday. So another underestimated forecast. Room temp yesterday hit 27C when I went bed in late afternoon (before I shut windows and door) its now 26.3 and not even midday. So I am not even convinced will be lower temp than yesterday now.

in my room I open the front door to let air in at night to cool things down, last 3 days in a row I have had butterflies fly in.

dry and cloudy I dont know outside temp.in my room it bottomed out at 24.5C at about 5am which is about 1C higher than wednesday so todays temps I expect to be higher than wednesday but colder than yesterday due to the clouds.

yesterday for me was sunny all day with small clouds in sky.I am wondering why people enjoy such hot temps tho, they unbearable for me. I couldnt sleep was too sweaty.

Temps have started to accelerate downwards, my room temp stayed at 27.2 for what seemed like an eternity, but now in 30 mins I have gone from 26.6 to 25.4. My room tends to bottom out at around 6am, with outside air bottoming out at 5am. if it hits the low 24s I think is hope for a cool day.

Hi guys, I was underpredicted every single day that I checked, I am in Leicester east midlands. For me july was a nightmare as I have dry eyes and this hot muggy air is a killer, plus my body seems intolerable to heat as I was sweating like crazy, every day waking up in a pool of sweat (if I managed tosleep), I didnt go out at all in july as it felt like walking into a conservatory going out the front door. Basically consistently the temperatures have been under predicted by 2-5C every day in july up until now. Most of july was predicted 25-29 and was actually 30-31. Today is predicted a 24 and I sai no chance. Room temp when I woke up was 29, the previous night was 26.2 at same time. So I think today is looking likely to be 3C hotter than wednesday at the very least. What makes things especially bad here is there is almost no wind, not even a breeze, looking at wind maps it seems wind dies down inland, and leicester is as inland as can get in england. Believe it or not all those predicted storms in late july, leics had no rain at all, just clouds. They all fizzled out before getting here. Yet the forecasters have predicted rain for today, which again seems unlikely. However I am grateful for the past week it was at least cloudy and much more pleasant. With occasional breezes until yesterday's nightmare. If today is to be down to below 26 again I expect my room temp to be below 25 comfortably at 5-6am. right now its only down to 27.5 and struggling to drop. I was hitting the 23s in my room mon, tues. 25 seems to be the crossover point for my sweating and general pleasantness, when it goes over that it feels hot and stuffy. Anyone have idea why winds etc. rare inland? I want to move to the coast Also to add last 4 days prior to friday we not 19-21. Were from sun-weds 23 23 22 22, my guess is friday (today) which was predicted 24 will be 26-27 maybe higher. Those 22s and 23s were predicted 20-21.
