  1. Flakes are a bit lighter now, i'm gonna go to bed as i have to be for work tomorrow, i hope i wake up to a decent covering but i'll not expect it...!
  2. We have a good snowfall now , but it's not sticking , not sure of dew point but air temp is 0.5c, could do with it getting colder
  3. Light snow falling here , very fine flakes, almost like rain
  4. Looks like a big amount of snow just east of here, hopefully it has enough energy to push in further
  5. I think the straws are still there, it's just that nobody can be bothered clutching anymore...apathy has taken over(quite rightly, we live in the worst place possible for snow)
  6. I'm a Brummie by birth(and the following 28yrs), spoke to my dad today who still lives there apparently it hasn't stopped snowing all day
  7. 0.7c here, not had any snow siince this morning but i'm hopeful i might get some tonight[and some snow]
  8. I suppose on a positive note , this is the 4th consecutive day that i have had some snowfall, Thursday was a good cm or 2 followed by Fridays 3-4 cms , but that is slowly melting , and all we've had since is just some light stuff
  9. Had a few light flurries here over the last hour but nothing worth mentioning , looking at the NW radar it appears thet the snow is skirting around the south end of the pennines then just about reaching here on it's northerly flank , does anyone know if this will continue , or will we get some heavier stuff , or none at all. Ian
  10. Nice one !, to be honest i'm looking forward to seeing my Girlfiend....don't tell the wife though!!!!! (only Joking)
  11. -0.1c here, just walked back from an evening with the in-laws , doesn't feel half as cold as i was expecting , snow is still soft ,doesn't feel as if it's freezing
  12. Had a slow thaw throughout the day here but still quite a lot of snow around ,temp reached a max of 1.0c, but it's starting to freeze now, temp just dropped to 0.0c ,
  13. Sorry , what i meant was purely from a personal perspective..the METo was showing very little for us today but the GFS still stuck with snow all day
  14. From an IMBY perspective , i have to say the GFS has come up trumps when compared to the other models this week.
  15. Given the way the GFS progged the snow for NW England when the Meto didn't ,i would be inclined to give it some credence, however i hope it's way off the mark
  16. I don't post on here that often , however i feel i have to give a big pat on the back to the GFS, It has stuck to it's guns all week and predicted that the Snow would spread to the NW,even when the METO/BBC downgraded and said that today's front wouldn't reach here the GFS still had snow for us .Last night we had about 5-6 hrs of snow that wasn't forecast by the ECM/UKMO or the Beeb but the GFS has forecast it for the last few days. Currently it is snowing , which is the 14th consecutive hour that it has fallen, we have somewhere in the region of 4-5 inches of level snow , compare that to the meto's forecast of 2cms ..WELL DONE GFS , for once you have won hands down.
  17. Snowing all day here, left work at 3.30, came out of the Gym at 5.20 and the snow that had fallen had frozen solid to my windscreen, just been out to take some piccies in the street and the snow is still falling , that is about 14 hrs of snowfall here(not including last nights )..currently -2.0c with a strong wind...bitterly cold
  18. I can't complain about this snowy period , we had about 1-2 cm last night and probably about 6-8 cms so far today and it's still snowing , albeit lighter, with the freeze to come it should stay around for a few days
