  1. -3.7c overnight, now sunny and 5c , most of the snow has melted now
  2. It looks like that's all folks..the radar show the peaks/ south pennines coming into effect and stopping the snow falling west of the pennines
  3. About 5-6 inches of level snow here, just had to climb up the ladder and clear the Sky Dish of ice and snow, as i had lost all my HD channels
  4. Unfortunately it's not sun but rain down south though
  5. Been a good one here, but i would prefer sun and warmth instead
  6. Snowed all day but not really settled apart from on the grass..since 6pm it's been heavy , we now have about 4-5cms on paths and roads and about 7cms on the grass, hope it continues and freezes....if i'm honest though i would rather have sun and 20c like we did this time last year
  7. Looks like the snow is piling in from the SW, is the whole lot then going to sink back through the region , or will it just dry up?
  8. Had some light snow flakes falling on and off here today.I want to see the back of winter now, bring on sun and warmth
  9. -4.1c overnight with a sharp frost , but another beautiful sunny day here
  10. Beautiful day today, glorious sunshine ..i would settle for this for the next 7-8 months ,just getting 3-4c warmer each month...really do not want winter/snow to return
  11. There will be a drought in March then , reservoirs will be low and we'll be praying for rain
  12. A true Easterly bringing dry air from the continent would not pick up much moisture over the north sea , then we would get sun to the west of high ground Me too ,The wife and i have been into Liverpool today and whilst the wind was a bit chilly it was quite pleasant in the sun..Roll on Spring
  13. We'd get bu**er all with an easterly wind , just cold frosty Nights and mainly sunny days , we're too well protected by the pennines
  14. If the easterly arrives and brings with it some exciting weather then fine , but to be honest i'm just waiting for spring/summer now, the light evenings,BBQs
  15. Can't say i was excited about you losing yours, but if it was anything like mine ,then i expect we're in for another let down(weatherwise!!)i'm not sure that we'r in the reliable timeframe yet to be honest , the way this winter has been ,i will be reasonably confident when we're at +24z
  16. Raining now , had about 5 hrs of snow which has left 2-3 cms on the ground,it was better than i expected but unfortunately it wasn't snowing when i got to work this morning and it will be mostly gone by the time i leave , been stuck inside all day so no photo's etc....Hopefully we will get some more after next week , if not then i have to say other than 25th Jan when we had a lot of snow , it has been a disappointing winter on the whole
  17. I was born in '61 but obviously don't remember '63 , but i do remember some big snow events growing up in Birmingham during the 70's & 80's. I have also spent some time in Sweden during some very big snowfalls, my best mate lives in Sweden NE of Gothenburg and they quite regularly get 30-60cms snowfalls during winter, that doesn't cause too much disruption
