  1. Absolutely brilliant analysis and explanation for model watchers in simple language(like me) Thank you
  2. The ECM 12z and the GFS 12z are poles apart next week ,it remains to see if the GFS 18z follows the ECM ,if it doesn't then i would expect the ECM to backtrack as well at midnight.
  3. Depends on where you live ,I would suggest that It has been dank here in NW England , and certainly not exceptionally cold .
  4. How depressing http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2633948
  5. Whether you agree that global warming is responsible for our climate or not ,I think you have to face up to the fact that our winters are always gonna be dominated by periods of wet/windy Atlantic weather and occasional colder spells with frosts and fog. It's been this way for many years now , Yes I know that every now and then we get a snowy spell and sub zero temps by day but those days are rare. I have friends who live in West Sweden and I have been travelling there for almost 30 years both during summer and winter ,and their winters are getting progressively milder except for the far north which is pretty much snowbound and sub zero between Nov-March. I love the snow and watch the forecasts avidly for signs of it arriving ,but unless it is shown on the models at +60-72 then i try not to get my hopes up.Right now I've already switched my focus to looking for signs of spring arriving in the med which is always a positive/mood changing time for me.
  6. Bring on Spring , this winter is going to go the way of previous winters especially here in the NW of England,I've given up hope of anything remotely winter-like , so all that I can do is say bring on the sun and long warm spring days .
  7. Most of the precip coming into our region is green (sleet) on the radar.
  8. One line heading through preston/chorley and another through the mersey/cheshire gap
  9. We seem to be stuck in the middle between 2 lines of snow :-(
  10. It's miserable reading I agree , but I'd be happy if we were in Iberia, that HP is bringing settled warm conditions down there.
  11. It rained for about 1/2 hr then went back to snow , had about 2 inches of lying snow in all
  12. We have about 3-4 cms now (i've told the wife it's 7 inches, please don't give away my secret )
  13. Someone tell him it's not the north sea, it's the IRISH SEA
  14. Still quite heavy here , looking at the radar i expect it will stop in an hr or so , I hope it doesn't thaw away by morning...hope we get a heavy frost
  15. I knew it would happen , it always does , we can't defend a lead,I saw the game on the computer we should have won that comfortably,we switched off at 0-2 again
  16. I SHARE YOUR GRIEF AT THE 3 POINTS (CHEATING GITS) , BUT THE SNOW HAS SAVED MY SATURDAY(Sorry caps lock on)
  17. It's about 2cm now, but it's still snowing hard,I certainly didn't expect this .
  18. Not a bad day all things considered , apart from Chelski's dodgy offside cheating equaliser (I'm not bitter)
  19. It is light drizzle and the BBC forecast does say heavy snow later , we shall see.
