  1. I'm gonna be bold and say tonight Wigan will get Wind and ..................................................................S...odding Rain again , yet again we have managed to avoid even the slightest snowflake
  2. Only Rain/Sleet/Hail/Graupel not seen a proper snow flake yet here today, typical winter weather .
  3. Yep....I don't know why people get so taken in by the models, it nearly always ends up in rain and wind here,
  4. Oh god not Eno , she's awful, how the hell she is presenting weather is beyond me ..totally clueless, and where the flip is Combria
  5. Agreed,BBC week forecast going for temps of 4-5c , hardly potent cold
  6. Oh it will it always does..Summer warm rain , Winter cold rain
  7. If you didn't laugh you'd cry ..Algeria , North Africa yesterday
  8. BBC going for a jet stream across the country at the end of the week with LPs attacking from the Atlantic , no indication of anything cold
  9. BBC going for a jet stream across the country at the end of the week with LPs attacking from the Atlantic , no indication of anything cold
  10. It reached about 4c today here , but in shaded areas (north facing front garden) it's still frozen
  11. Still Just above freezing here 0.1c , thought it would drop a lot quicker than it has , feels more damp than frosty
  12. 1995 was probably one of the events i referred to,can't remember specifics..however 2 hours from Poolstock lane to the M58 is about average on a good day now..the whole town is gridlocked twice a day every day
  13. The feeling of negativity probably comes from NW England , we've had no snow so far this winterand the models do not suggest that will change anytime soon
  14. I moved to the NW in 1989 (Merseyside till 92 & then Wigan), and I could probably count on the fingers of one hand (that's 5 in these parts :-) ) the number of times we've had 'disruptive' snow since then, certainly it was a lot snowier and colder when I lived in Birmingham (1961-89). My son was born in 1997 in Wigan and the first time he saw heavy disruptive snow was in 2007 and that was when went to Sweden. I love this part of the country, it is my home, however I hate the fact we get very little snow and cold in the winter, similarly we also seem to have wetter cloudier summers than other parts of the country.
  15. I'll not miss it , the rain always wakes me up rattling against the window
  16. You don't need a very long neck to be confident that tonight's 'event' will deliver copious amounts of rain for the Wigan area
