Been very heavy for most of the day, what was more noticable was the lack of any breeze, with all the warnings out for gales i was getting a bit worried as my 10yr old son is flying back from Spain tonight after a month out there and i was worried that the flight may have been delayed or cancelled...but as it turned it out his flight is due in on schedule(i can't wait to see him)

Very disappointing here , Dull, breezy and it's just been raining, currently at 20c :lol: :lol:

Off to se SE Spain(Murcia) on Sunday , i notice a bright plume of pink stretching into spain from N africa on the GFS 850 Chart , Looks like it could be very Hot

Cymru, i'm just one of lifes pessimists when it comes to getting the weather i want , i would love a hot summer and cold snowy winter , but i live in the NW of England so i'm likely to get neither let's hope we get what we want. Ian B)

I've a feeling that we could be let down this year, i would love a long hot summer , but i doubt it , i can see May,June and July being quite average temp wise and above average rainfall levels TBH with the dry sunny weather returning for August and September, but i hope i'm wrong Ian

Don't know how much we've had, but easter monday was very wet.

I would definatly recommend central to northern Sweden from December thru to April if you want to see really deep snow , before and after can be a bit touch and go unless your really lucky or really north...S - SW Sweden( Gothenburg area) can see a lot of snow between Nov and April but it's not really guaranteed, this week is great in the W to SW of Sweden but last week was snow free.

There has been over 24hrs of continuos snow in the Gothenburg region of Sweden with more to come....oh i wish i was there.

Well i'm back , i needn't have worried really,the highest temp we saw was -2c and the lowest -18c, the snow was knee deep with drifts a lot higher , i'll try and enclose a few Photo's , if they don't work then accept my apologies...We did a bit of skiing which was fun , but the best bit was seeing my son waist deep in the snow , he had never really seen deep snow before..we also walked across a frozen lake (the ice was 1mtr deep) and it did snow on 2 of the days we were there. ....Roll on next year i can't wait

It looks like the Scandi High is gonna stay put , which is great for keeping it very cold , but i don't think i'm gonna see any falling snow whilst i'm there , but i'm sure i can cope with the 90 cm that's already lying.

Our 0.00000001cm cover of snow is now freezing Yipeee...Roll on Saturday i'm flying to Sweden and spending a week where there is 90cm of level snow and daytime max's of -12c night time mins of -29c This part of the UK is the worst place for snow, i was born in Brum and we had a load more snow than here, in fact my dad has text me to say they have 4-5 inches on the ground (why did i ever leave)

Started about 8.am here and it's now quite heavy , my son is outside playing in it before he goes to school

I love the snow and hope we finally see some here in Wigan on Thursday, However i'm starting to panic , i have drive down to Stansted Friday Night/Saturday Morning to catch a flight...please please please say i'm not gonna have difficulty...for once in my life i do not want it to snow(well not until i'm in Sweden anyway)

Hi, Not sure if this is the right place to put this,but.....For some obscure reason i failed to record the max/min temps© for the 24 hr period beginning 6am 27/1/07 for the Wigan area (although i have been debilitated for a week or so with the Winter virus so that may explain my failings), is there anyone who knows how i can obtain the data, or does any one else in Wigan have any records i can use

Getting milder here , now up to 2.2c and bloody raining....this cold spell is a damp squib.

There's been a lot more snow today , and the forecast looks good SNÖDJUP. Vemdalsskalets Högfjällshotell 710 m.ö.t 60cm natursnö i terräng(Base/Ground) 60 cm i nedfarter (Higher slopes.i think) 15 cm nysnö senaste 24h (New snow in last 24 hrs)

Still exceptionally mild and wet i southern parts of Sweden , but mid to north Latitudes are getting ever increasing amounts of snow, which can only bode well for my trip in February :lol: Currently between 35-45 cm of lying snow in Vemdalen/Klovsjo(but there is some rain and + temps predicted before more snow at the weekend)
