I don't Andy, I rely on the sky turning dark enough to not need a filter to tone it down.

Same here too but when we was in the states last year. We saw a few good strikes in the day time but couldn't capture it on camera. Same thing happened here last year when we had the wild storms. Beautiful strikes but couldn't capture them. Thought maybe using the ND 10 might help

Do you use a filter for taking day time lightning shots ? Like ND 10 non stop filter ?

I've got a ND 2 ND 4 ND 6 and ND 10 filters also a 0.45 wide angle fish lens

It sure was Paul. That was my first time seeing a supercell mothership. It was so low. You could literally touch it. Also that was my very first tornado. Seen a few waterspouts but never a tornado.

Hi guys, so I finally got round to it and have booked tour 3 ! So excited !! Will be booking my flights this weekend and sorting my insurance out ! I am going to try and book to arrive a day early and stay in a hotel that night does anyone have any recommendations for hotels at Dallas Fort Worth airport ?

Hi Thomas. We normally stay at the best western Irving inn in Dallas Fort Worth. They provide a free shuttle to n from the airport. Book via Expedia n you should get a discount. I'm booked in there for 18th may. Paid Â£50 for one night. Free wifi n breakfast

I got a Nikon D3200 for around Â£270, I know bugger all about cameras so got my cousin who is a keen photographer to recommend me one

On a side note, the FA Cup final is on 30th May, the day I fly back, it'll be just my luck that we'll make it there this year...

Hi Nick. I got the same camera as you. I bought mine last year n like you. I didn't have a clue how to use it. I got so much better with it now tho. Very good camera. Settings to capture good lightening in settings. Set your filter to F11 and your ISO to 800 depending how dark it is. Could also leave it in 100 but the photos will come out abit darker. Turn your lens settings to manual. Don't use automatic. If u do. The camera won't let you take the photo at night. I found that out last year. You also need a little clicker so you can take the photos without touching the camera. Have it on long exposer for about 5 or 6 seconds. There's also plenty of videos on you tube that will show you how to use it. Hope that helped ya out abit.

Hi all. I'm from Brighton in sussex and I'm on tours 2 and 3. Went storm chasing this year for the first time and I got to say. It was the greatest trip I've ever had. Can't wait to do it again next year. I be flying from heathrow on the 18th May. Look forward to seeing you all. Saw a beautiful storm on the 19th September of constant lightening n that's made me even more excited for the tour. Can't wait.

Been a good day. Lots of storms around. Saw a land tornado but only lasted a few seconds. Had hail too around the size of a Â£2 coin. Here's some photos.
