  1. @pages on a side note, that chart you posted looks more like one of those paintings I would do at dreamland years back. Paper placed on some spinning thing and then you squirt on different colours of paint. You end up with some sort of marbeled psychedelic picture ? Thats how shallow my knowledge is at the moment on chart reading
  2. Ah ok, thank you, so it' actually the low that is moving in a NE direction and not the precipitation? Thus giving the false illusion on the radar?
  3. Is it me or are those the wind directions at the moment? Because that is how the animation plays out, UK ENE winds and France SW winds, almost a split right along the channel ?
  4. You probably all seen it loads, but the year Britain froze just starting on more4 now. Documenting the 2010 winter!
  5. No more overnight snow for thanet, was another covering early evening and that was it. Just dropped kids to school, main roads all fine, side roads a little dodgy. What is here will melt up today. Fingers crossed for something decent in the next two days ?
  6. Not much admittedly, could just about sledge, good snowballing though. Hoping for more overnight and tomorrow morning. Surprisingly bbc (crappy) app is showing good snow for thanet tomorrow.
  7. Still snowing, not overly deep, but I'll take it, was really fearing none after expecting a lot. Thanet
  8. Lol, just bought 3 packets of Maryland Cookies this evening, at Tesco half price at 62p, had to take them up on that.
  9. Just had a little dusting in Ramsgate, it' not like proper snow though, it's like tiny little balls, not hail but tiny snow balls. Blows around like when you break up polystyrene packing. If that makes any sense? Hoping for decent snow and staying positive. Really bigged this one up to my kids and family and I never do that, I'm very cautious, hope I don't end up look silly ?
  10. Hi, wanted to purchase netweather extra for a year but having problems. Signed in to the forum no problems, but when I click netweather extra and click the purchase option it asks me to login and when I put my details in, it says username password combination not recognised! Any help much appreciated thanks
  11. Lightly snowing on and off in Ramsgate, small flakes though, but what is falling is settling. Where usually it would melt as soon as it hits the deck.
  12. Ramsgate here, just popped outside, nice and cold now and cloud cover whereas earlier it was clear sky and could see the stars. Fingers crossed
  13. I think you are referring to galactic cosmic ray particle bombardment and it's affects on cloud cover. Henrik Svensmark the Danish physicist did years of work on this, but was largely ignored or ridiculed by mainstream scientists at the time. The theory being (in very simple terms and excuse me if I'm wildly wrong because this is all pretty new to me) as the sun enters into a grand solar minimum, lower activity, goes to sleep, call it what you will. The heliosphere weakens, which is kind of like the solar systems protective shield, the more this weakens the more cosmic rays (which spray all over the universe, produced from things like exploding stars) enter our solar system and can hit our atmosphere. Usually our magnetosphere does a great job of protecting us (earths very own protective shield), but that is currently on the decline too unfortunately. Svensmark theory is that ionization from cosmic rays enhances aerosol formation (clouds), the more cloud cover, the more of the suns rays and heat are reflected away from our planet and in turn this causes our planet to cool. Very interesting YouTube documentary on it and well worth a watch https://youtu.be/ANMTPF1blpQ
  14. Excuse my ignorance but why no chance in this scenario happening If the charts show it? I'm well aware a chart 2 days or even a day away changes, but to say No chance? Thanks
  15. Finally snowing here, will be here in the morning? I doubt it :'-(
