  1. Considering the nature of our weather, wouldn't hold it to fact just yet.
  2. By the time tonight is over, we may have a covering of snow around the river Severn, last thing they want is melting snow and rain followed by showers (as usual, they have been torrential.
  3. According to Netweather radar, the low is sat over West Wales, Some very unstable air causing some torrential downpours to occur within 15mins of a shower developing over West Wales. ~ Quite unstable here in Blackwood and of course a little further west where you are !
  4. The more I look into January's forecast, the less I see much of a chance of a recovery period... ~ Thursday to Saturday night may'be the driest time ? Then we are back into our cycle of lovely atlantic storms
  5. I am sure I read once.. that the heat of lightning was 5x hotter than the surface of the sun, surely the variables in temperature on this planet in comparison with a lightning bolt, would create unnoticeable differences?
  6. another thunderstorm in the SE welsh valleys. ~ Is that the 4th one today ? ~ All containing hail! ~ This last storm nearly blew down a tree, it was blowing like i'd never seen in my life! ~ As for the hail, I said out loud "what the hell" as it I could hear very large hail getting ever closer and louder!Another two stormy showers on their way, can't wait to see what gifts they come with A tornado perhaps?
  7. Enviroment agency keep on updating their severe warnings, Even the coast at Penarth expected to see over 8metre height of water. ( specific detail at the enviroment agency.Newport could be at serious risk of having city flooded. 0,0
  8. What on earth is up with this aircraft ?http://www.flightradar24.com/EIN724
  9. Nice webcam here of Portsmouth. Violent storm! http://www.portsmouth-cam.co.uk/
  10. Same here in SE Wales, winds have really picked up again.
  11. This one doesn't seem to be having much success landing either. Besides that, how many squall lines are forming across the South West & Wales ? ~ At least 2 may'be 3 ?http://www.flightradar24.com/EIN386
  12. When I see pictures like this, and know there is another load of rain due over Wales, it doesnt bring confidence!http://www.itv.com/news/wales/update/2013-12-23/viewers-pictures-flood-warnings-issued-for-river-usk/
  13. Looking at the next Christmas Present coming from the Atlantic.. ~ Aberdare is already flooded.. Where I live there have been two reports of flooding causing problems!! This next batch of rain is headed straight for us!
  14. This could be quite concerning for some caught in the heavy/torrential rain tomorrow. Some serious problems likely!http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/floods/142151.aspx
  15. It's things like this we must be aware of. It only takes a gust or 2 and all hell can break loose.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-north-west-wales-25479920
  16. Shortly after St Jude hit there was another storm which hit Wales hard! All trains were stopped in the Valleys, trees over the roads.. Caravan blown over on the M4, powercuts. I personally find it quite hard to estimate how strong the winds will be once they have funelled through the valleys.Wind and rain both will cause a big impact here.
  17. I'll go have a shower.. while I wait for the metoffice to finish all their warnings.. ~ Their going to be really busy over the next week!
  18. Not very likely to be seen by potential lorry drivers trying to cross the Severn Bridge... etc ~ There needs to be a seperate warning.
  19. Well the BBC have their warnings updated for Scotland! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-25478961
  20. Wow guys, ~ British storm chasing club! We are going to want to make one with all our "self harming" like attributes with storms.
  21. Same here. Absolutely love mother natures power.. but I wouldn't wan't see any hurt or killed by it. When I first started taking a liking to storms we had a lot of rain throughout yr 2000 I believe. The most destruction I wanted, was for the football pitch to get washed away by the river. A little optimistic I was, but I do remember it eroding away slowly.
  22. I can just imagine people coming to and from Ireland for Christmas shopping and getting caught in the wind storms.. getting people trapped. Rail services disrupted, Planes grounded. All of these things just being logistical. Power outages over Christmas? Flooded homes.. All these things pose a risk to life. People need to be warned more than we are.
