  1. The Graig would make a good Cresta run. laughs....
  2. The snow front seems to have stalled. And the wind is going back towards an south easterly on the East coast. The warm air may not make it apart from the far south west. I hope it does as it will be chaos if this lot don't melt up here. I well remember winters in the olden days. laughs - when mild were promised and huge dumpings in the West for the mild to never appear. Also noticed a large dumping of something on it's way up across from France. That just may make Wales this evening. I am not sure this is over - the models are squeezing out this mild and not going to thaw today as temperature still below freezing up here in the Rhondda...
  3. Cannot say I will be sorry to see it gone. We have a foot of drifting snow out there and it is snowing again. So no chance of going out. A short thaw then it is going to get colder again - a repeat in a week or two. Be nice to see the green grass....
  4. There is some much heavier snow now coming up on the radar. Seems to be building
  5. Weather is cyclic. Them idiots only have to look and they would see. But of course it is a con. And now the government has got in the act that proves it. Just a way to raid your wallet. lol. Now when global warming is shown to be what it is, after a few winters like this, they will find a way to tax us to pay for us to have global warming rotfl...
  6. Anybody that has lived through the winters of the 60's. 70's and 80's could tell peeps this is a common thing then. The mild tried to win, but fails. I see the temps are now being downgraded to lower, and the snow being held out for longer. The models are progged for 'even larger teapot'. Now we have low solar output this will be a regular feature. Back to the past. Global warming is no more. lol...

  8. If you walked it do you think the teachers will make it? Don't think so. lol
  9. Ok after this snow a few days of mild maybe at the weekend. But the gfs is now reloading the cold and a hell of a cold spell to come again. At least we can clear it and start the fun again. lol....But of course - there is going to be a heck of a lot of snow to clear...
  10. It's snow on the sky dish. If you can reach with a brush make sure you get it off the bit that pokes out the front facing the dish. Will work then....
  11. The snow will be on the news soon. It will soon reach Reading. laughs. Be in Basingstoke soon. Now that is big news. laughs....Does sky want to visit the valleys. lol...
  12. Got over three inches of fresh snow here now - and drifting. With snow expected to fall for the rest of the night looks like a fair bit will have fallen by tomorrow...
  13. Don't think so. Prepare for a night in the car. lol....
  14. yes and most the valleys will be at a standstill by morning with the drifting...We will need a plough by then to get us to a main road.
  15. The system has stalled as it hit the brick wall of cold so not likely to get up there for some time. When it does it will have weakened a lot....
  16. Looking at the radar the system does seem to have stalled. As has been said all the energy though is still being pumped up towards us - the snow is getting deep here now with lots of drifting already. And with snow falling all night will be an interesting scene in the morning. Could be the worse snowfall since the 80's if it keeps falling...
  17. Roads already covered and drifting already..This will be fun to watch in a couple of hours...
  18. Started to snow heavy with an increasing wind. Snow settling with no problems as below freezing here..This lot is going to get well blown around..
  19. just started to snow now up here in the upper Rhondda....Temperature -01.C Dewpoint -2.4C
  20. Temperature now down to zero with the dew point well below and dropping. Blizzard on the way for you rhondda guys. lol...
  21. I have a feeling this is going to be a very major event compared with recent winters. My father in law were going to go to bowls tonight - just told him to forget it unless he fancies walking home. Said when it starts snowing - expect not to get out for at least a day....
  22. Temperature now 0.2C Dewpoint -2.3C and both falling. We now wait for the whiteout. There is now no doubt we are going to get a pasting up here in the Rhondda...
  23. Guess anyone stuck up Black road now is going to have a long wait to get their car back after this lot. rotfl....
  24. The best way at this stage is to nowcast. Look at the South West thread and that gives reports of precipition and type that is heading our way. And keep checking this thread to see what is happening as the precipitation comes in. Which it is starting to do now...
  25. Latest precipitation estimates indicate the Rhondda is going to be one of the worse effected with up to a foot of snow with drifting. That is a hell of a lot of snow. If we got half that with the drifting it would be bad. We can only now wait and see...
