    Haven't heard anything from the MSM about record cold in the Americas, but have heard plenty about the record heat in the middle East. MSM doing what it does best

    Getting a bit blowy here too, 30mph gust starting to record on my weather station.

    Just watched the forecast on the BBC news and it was all smiles and no change in tone to project the severity of the up coming situation. If you were busy in the kitchen, or sorting the kids out, and were only listening to it in the background, you would be non the wiser to the upcoming situation that is unfolding. BBC have become a joke.

    Thankfully they are starting to emphasise the serverity of the situation that could unfold tomorrow!

    Isn't 10.30 they convene - should see warnings upgraded around lunchtime if things continue to stay as they are.

    I must admit, the forecasts on the tele don't project the severity of what could happen tomorrow! They present the weather as 100+mph aren't anything to be particularly concerned about! I bet if this was in the USA there would be dedicated news sections warning people about the potential loss of life and damage this could cause! Feels a bit like they are sleep walking us into this!

    Once bitten twice shy comes to mind. Still there this morning, and with another potent Northerly around the 12th. All FI though which mean pure model tease mode is in full swing.

    I think that perfectly sums everything up nicely. This should be pinned as a reminder the next time a fantasy cold spell is modelled.

    That's me done with model watching over Christmas! It seems to be the way things are these day's, whether it's anything to do with global warming or not, the UK just can't get a decent cold spell. They are becoming as rare as hens teeth. why o why can't we just catch a break - it's going to be hard to recover from this let down with the big day being involved.

    Just seen BBC forecast, and they went right out to Christmas eve. General trend is for the high to slip East and fronts to move in with rain and temps of 8c. They ain't sitting on the fence. If it goes the other way, there will be some serious questions asked and a lot of red faces.

    I think while you have a northern hemisphere like that we a still in the game. It's not screaming raging zonality!

    I think we are all well aware if there's a way we can avoid getting this cold spell to T0 the models will find it! But it doesn't help if you try looking for it when it's clearly not there (at the moment) Lets enjoy it while they look good!
