Here's hoping to have something in the York region, we've really not had anything decent all winter
We appear to be in a gap between the lines of showers at the moment. Just our luck!

So have we lost the band of snow on Sunday to the southerners?

So does that mean I’m hardly gonna get any snow in pocklington York
Just the usual rain around here probably

To say it’s meant to snow in the morning it doesn’t really feel cold out! Is there colder air due to move in? Could be a damp squib here in York again if not

Could we be about to have a really good re freeze season ?
seems positive at the mo ,
and if so and the melt isn’t so great in summer months could this aid colder winds next winter
The problem is every summer is trending warmer, there’d have to be very favourable Synoptics for any hope of that!

Looked quite good on the York railcam though u could tell it was marginal but seemed to have lasted good few hours we got sod all here apart from more rain. Like someone said earlier the death of an proper Northerly in winter has done it here . Seems pretty much same close to the East Coast up to North East Scotland down to East Anglia in recent years.
Unfortunately not, it was snowing fairly hard for maybe a few hours tops, then soon turned back to rain. Another miss. Yes, it seems we all need an exceptional setup to get snow these days

Its a none event for you mate im sorry.
Your too far north for the heavier precipitation.
Without 2mm per hour eveporative cooling cant start and thats been your issue its bad luck. The met mentioned some areas seeing nothing and its for area like yours and hull thats missed the heavy precipitation
Roll on summer then . Just looks like it’ll be the same old story for York and East Yorkshire.
Enjoy it those who have been lucky

York misses out again. An hour or so of wet snow gone back to light drizzle. Might give it up for this winter!
-
Rain in York again. Should I expect to see any snow today?
-
Can report rain in York. Despite being under some of the heavier stuff according to the radar, it actually isn’t raining heavily.
-
York missing out again?! Shock
-
Absolutely zip here. Glad to see others got some but it could have been shared around a bit more!

Rain and 2.5 deg. Actually feels warm too
-
Very icy after the rain/sleet. Be careful!

Are we expecting these showers to die away over night? The look more wintry on the radar now

Out of curiosity does anyone know the reasoning why our showers have now turn to sleet or rain were the rest of the country seem to continue to get snow
We are the first to get the warm sector coming from the North Sea.

showers seem to be getting shorter and less frequent (albeit heavier) when they do arrive. Are we expecting them to be less frequent this afternoon/evening?
