  1. Id much, much rather have this cold, crisp weather with the possibility of snow than raging mild, endless blowtorch zonal weather like last year! To be fair - I've seen lots of snow'fall' this winter but its just failed to properly SETTLE! It could be worse though, I spent the weekend in Cardiff and they haven't seen ANY snow this winter!
  2. Slushy mess here and now raining . Aren't we supposed to be in a cold spell? I Suppose it could be worse - at least I've seen some snow, I'm off to Cardiff later and they haven't seen a flake all winter again!
  3. Nothing here in Tipton. Just clear skies EDIT - very light snow falling
  4. Exciting.. Some people/models saying it could go east, some saying over wales, can't it just compromise and smash right into Birmingham & the Black Country?
  5. That Shefali (BBC midlands weather) just advised the region that the snow would 'fizzle out to nothing' on BBC WM. She mentioned a 'feature' but said that at this stage 'we're going for dry'. hmm.
  6. Totally nothing here except wet roads and pavements.
  7. Ive just been for a meal in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham and It was wet and sleety there, nothing to write home about. Back in Tipton now and its the same here!
  8. Hopefully - Ill be in Cardiff then so Ill definitely miss any snow (and probably the cold too)! I really don't like these 'blink and you'll miss it'/ 'will it, won't it' showery type set-ups, so annoying. Why can't we just get a decent frontal snow setup - we'd all be happy then!
  9. Oh no, 12z euro4 not looking good I know it's only one run but at this stage It looks like yet another West Midlands let-down!
  10. Following this forum in the winter is very much like riding a roller coaster but Ive been following it for many years, I even followed the old BBC weather forums years back and many of the mod thread regulars posted there at the time!!. I very rarely post though - Always been a bit of a lurker!!
  11. I saw this shared on Facebook! I don't think I've ever read such a ramped up story!! They've used the words 'punishing, crippling, frenzied, hell, havoc, chaos, screaming'... Even I hid behind the sofa after reading that!
  12. I'm going to err on the side of caution for this one and keep quiet (and not get my hopes up)! I have promised myself that I will refrain from ramping up the snow possibilities too! Last week I had fellow teachers (and students) bursting into my classroom demanding an explanation as to why they didn't get a snow day!
  13. Yeah me too I loved those iconic weather symbols, and when they used to splash the odd extra snowflake around you knew we were in business!
  14. Hi all, I'm really not getting my hopes up but it would be a lovely birthday present if we were to get snow on Wednesday I think it was 2004 when I last saw birthday snow, I lived in Cardiff then, right on the coast and we got a good covering!
  15. I had a light covering in Tipton and now it's all gone .
  16. Moderate snow now. Precipitation seems to just pep up as it approaches Birmingham.
  17. Isn't the snow supposed to back west as it fizzles out? L
  18. I'm off to Berlin later today until late Thursday and its looking like ill get one last cheeky snow event whilst I'm there . It is looking cold in the midlands by Friday though?
  19. turning very sleety here, Im hoping for a change in the next half hour or so!
  20. Woah this rain is rapidly eradicating our snow cover! I can't believe it never snowed at all. Just started as rain
  21. This snow looks to be very localised! Reports of snow in Cannock and Lichfield, rain in Rugeley and not a jot here in Sutton yet
  22. I can also report light snow in Sutton Coldfield
  23. Wind direction could keep it with us longer? http://www.xcweather.co.uk/
  24. I thought we were nearing the end about an hour ago looking at the radar but its STILL snowing!
  25. Lots of schools closed in Birmingham! Mine included, my students are probably jumping for joy.
