  2. Massive explosion of convection here, would expect at least a supercell with F5 twisters in the next 5 minutes. :lol: Edit.... Just looked again......... only fair weather cumulus,sorry got a bit carried away :lol: :lol:
  3. With respect.... utter tosh. I, and people i have spoken to would refer to the storms we had yesterday as severe. We are all forty something, so you would think have a memory of past storm events to compare them to.With regard to the "A few sharp showers" I do NOT remember this term being used in the past at all.
  4. Most in kent and much of sussex, ok. People in .... Essex, suffolk norfolk, greater london, lincolnshire, cambridgeshire, herts,and parts of surrey would most definitely........... Not
  5. Yesterday afternoon, evening a number of violent thunderstorms broke out in many areas, some with large hail, strong wind gusts, frequent lightning and i think a few tornadoes (small). Later in the evening, about 8 oclock on bbc news 24 weather, the forecaster, dont know here name,said....." there were a few sharp showers around in the south east today". On hearing this i nearly fell off the chair laughing, since when does flooding, violent sorms, large hail etc, constitute a few sharp showers?
