Hello i was wondering if any of the models were forecasting the euro slug high pressure being about for as long as it has and also the well above average temperature air circulating within it .myself im just a newbie to all this model forecasting stuff but i couldn't help but wonder if the effect of all those politicians talking nonsense and all the hot air wafting from there mouths in paris has got something to do with the current set up maybe someone with a bit more knowledge could advise.
Ps there's a family of field mice just moved into my woodshed to escape the winters cold poor little things hope there's milder weather forecast for them

I wish you guys would stop winding up all the people who read the Scottish regional forum with photos of snow and talk of temperatures hovering around the freezing mark and Buzz words like sleet hail thunder and lightning .I've been looking in the model discussion forum the last couple of weeks and it's all talk about bbqs shorts and t-shirts and beaches even woodsheds I appreciate a good windup as much as the next person but enough is enough .
Currently 1.5c and heavy sleet showers with a raw icy wind

Another lovely day here in the trossachs main st in Aberfoyle was flooded this morning and a couple of the local shops have a bit of mopping up to do pretty bad but certainly not the worst I've seen.
I was wondering if sombody more knowledgeable than myself could help me with a question .can the river forth in aberfoyle which is at least 30-40 miles away from Edinburgh be at all affected by the tide im blue in the face arguing with local EXPERTS saying the flooding is totally controlled by tides i believe it is just down to how heavy the precipitation is and how much snow melt anyone with any input would be much appreciated

Breaking news a strong Elnino is forecast this year disrupting weather patterns all over the world floods violent storms record heat droughts (EXCEPT IN SCOTLAND) where it will just be PISH.Nice morning after a cool start 2.6C min last night

If i could get rid of one weather phenomenon living in west/central Scotland it would have to be the azores high. Mild drizzle muck in winter warm drizzly midge muck in summer. At least it has it's fanboys/girls in the model thread. 12.8c and drizzle NICE

Man my cheeks are sore (facial ones) after all those tounge in cheek comments yesterday feels like I've blown up 100 cheap ballons.sorry back on topic its amazing how 12cm plus of snow can dissappear in a matter of hours lovely spring day today 9.8c max from a low of -1.3c

only about 50m asl right at the bottom of the highland boundary fault when it snows up on the surrounding hills it sometimes makes it right to the valley bottom back to rain /sleet again 1.8cBiggrey how high up are you. Always good to know these things, for snow prospects for other folk. Can't always tell from the motorway cams as they are hit and miss for seeing snow.

Och you're grand biggrey, if we were to start policing comments that joked about the met office warnings being southern centric/over the top at times, then the kilted would be a quieter, less cynical, less funny, less informative place
yeah i know strath the apology was tounge in cheek as well.just being a little p.c incase there are any more southern lurkers heavy wet snow now after some rain/sleet showers earlier

Having lurked about this forum for the last 3 years i could not help but notice the faith that a lot of people put into the infamous glosea model (does it really exist )my point is that there was no mention of how mild (warm) this whats going to be record shattering December or the record amount of rainfall that there has been. not one of the short/ medium /long range model forecasts predicted this.Dont get me wrong i for one am pleased about this for when i see mild dross charts out to ten or so days it doesn't mean that its going to happen
