there cannot be many cases of S.A.D in Croydon in the winter if the sun is still out at 7pmNot in this part of Croydon, sunshine.

He's an ass what? He's an astrophysicist as opposed to a conventional meteorologist, yes he's entitled to his opinion, but its not really fact.

maybe we are in a warmer period of NATURAL CLIMATE CHANGE can anyone say for sure the thames will never freeze over againWhat an odd thing to say...why don't we still hast frost fairs on the Thames?

nobody's doubting gordon manleys work probably knew more about the weather than everyone in the netweather community put together BUT i still believe if we had the same technology back then as we have now there wouldn't be as much emphasis put on global warming as there is just nowI'll have you not denigrate the work of the great Gordon Manley
-
I for one am glad we had the same technology 350 years ago to measure temperature and to collect all the data if not the whole global warming thing would be open to scepticism
-
I thought at this time of year a lot of people would be interested in knowing that over 1/3 of the u.k landmass has had several days of falling and lying snow.

Slightly disappointing start to what should be a good weather week here in the trossachs.light rain showers on and off all day dusting of snow about 300m up on the hills around aberfoyle today currently 2.3c
-
At least we're going to get some kind of payback from the government who have been taking climate change taxes of us since the 80s 97million its a start. Me personally anything that helps weather forecasting is good

Hi everyone been lurking for a while now time for a first post the weather lore that springs to my mind is if the ice in november can bear a duck the rest of the winter will be sludge and muck.I think there might be some truth in that one.

These lovely pics of Monday 3rd's red skies in the morning… we had a really spectacular one in Embra too, but the day went on to be nothing particularly bad in the way of weather...I know a lot of "ye olde lore" are codswallop, but I wondered whetehr anyone has had a Red Sky in The Morning that has been a warning of a bad day...…or any other weather lore that's turned out right or wrong? (Look, at least it gives us summat to talk about other than going "nae snaw, pishing doon, waaaaaah"! )
