  1. Nice altocumulus to your west not quite altocumulus castellanus yet but hopefully you might see some.
  2. This time I can probably stay up but there's no point until something happens because I might loose hours of sleep for nothing.
  3. Not really but it would help but it probably wouldn't help here. Good convection and a front might do me but not sure about your area.
  4. Best idea. I was like Gordon a few years ago and it mostly worked.
  5. Just incase, leave this open tonight. http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=en
  6. Still, my local BBC Weather forecast looks encouraging. "This Evening and Tonight: Most places will be dry and fine in the evening. Through the night, scattered heavy and thundery outbreaks of rain will move northeastwards across the region. It will feel quite muggy." "Saturday: Further scattered thunderstorms and intense downpours in the morning, more especially in the east. Somewhat drier and fresher conditions will move in from the west later in the afternoon."
  7. Hmmm, well lets put it this way. We have more chance of getting rain, at the current moment in time. However, because we are closest to the weather front we might just get bland rain. That's for us westerners. However, the E may have less rain but are nearer the continent so any rain that does fall is more likely to be thundery. So, it's that weighing up scenario. If you want more rain head W, if you want more chance of thunder head E. That's my turn on it.
  8. Lets hope so. I'll be keeping any eye later on. At least I should get some rain. Well, even that might be a struggle, now...
  9. We've had mid level instability overhead all day. A very good sign as you say.
  10. All I'm going to say is good luck all and lets hope we all get something thundery. Good luck.
  11. I saw more altocumulus castellanus cloud while I was out. Feeling very warm and muggy but the wind is phenomenal. Has touched damaging here recently.
  12. Another load of altocumulus castellanus cloud has developed to the SSW of here.
  13. Well, we're going to get rain. But, if you see my recent photos there are signs of instability now. Can you see the altocumulus castellanus yet?
  14. This is a better photo. A more advance area of altocumulus castellanus cloud to the S, now.
  15. Here we go! These are a few lines of altocumulus castellanus clouds looking SSW from here.
  16. Just like me looking at this forum nearly all the time when I should be well...
  17. Jesus! Never seen so much altocumulus castellanus cloud! This is a very good sign!
