  1. The temperatures have really plummeted here this evening. It was 13C at 18:00, now it's only 5C, and the forecasted low for tonight was only expected to be 8C...
  2. The temperature has remained very static so far today - it's still 13C.
  3. Quite breezy this morning, after a very mild night for the time of the year, at 13C.
  4. The sun is trying it's best to stay out here, but there is quite a bit of cloud around. Last night was very chilly at 2C.
  5. Got down to just under 2°C last night, with a touch of grass frost. Now I've woken up to sunshine.
  6. I have clear skies here, so the temperature is already down to 5°C. That is already lower than the forecasted minima for tonight, and with 7 hours or so of night-time still to go, I could see my first frost by the end of the night, or at least get very close.
  7. A lovely mid-autumn morning here with bright sunshine and just the odd bit of mid-level stuff. 9°C.
  8. A very autumnal day today with heavy rain. Surprisingly it isn't that cold or windy however...
  9. The autumn of 1993 was a very cold autumn with some notable wintry blasts. There was a very postent northerly during mid-October that brought heavy snow to Scotand and Northern England and an easterly in late November, which also brought snow. My historic video for it:
  10. I was just about to post the same thing. The sun has since gone in and the sky is looking very disturbed. Looks like that very heavy rain will hit us soon.
  11. A few strikes were detected near Stoke-on-Trent about 20 minutes ago. Sorry I can't post charts.
  12. Today has been a lovely day for early October. After a very mild night we have been left with warm spells of sunshine and 19C. This feels warmer because of the humidity. Hopefully some thunder tonight.
  13. There's a bit of light rain moving through here at the moment. What is interesting is there is someone letting off fireworks in the distance and it sounds like light rain with distant rolling thunder! It sounds wonderful Hopefully it is ramping up for something tonight/tomorrow.
  14. The sun is trying to come out now. It feels all humid and muggy... lovely
  15. It started off very murky and cloudy here, but has since brigtened right up in the last half an hour or so. I hope there is another sunny and warm-feeling afternoon on the way.
  16. Over the last few days, the GFS has been continually hinting at the possibility of some thundery showers on Tuesday. With CAPE levels of 300-500 j/kg and lapse rates of 25-27C across western England and northern Wales, we could definately see some thunder and lightning. However the wind shear is quite weak, so it is unlikely that we will see anything organised... This could be our last chance for this season...
  17. Such a contrast to yesterday. It's gone from nearly 20C and sunshine to a max of 10C with low cloud and fog. I want yesterday back.
  18. Another splendid day! This week has been absolutely beautiful!
  19. What is the largest diurnal temperature range you have experienced? Mine was in March 2012 when I recorded a maxima of 21°C and a minima of 0°C the following night.
  20. An overnight minimum of 2°C last night and some light to moderate fog this morning. Quite a contrast to yesterday.
