  1. Bit late for a storm report but I though I would post it anyway Was down in Chatham, Kent earlier on business and after we finished we went to the pub. From the comfort of the pub I witnessed a llightning show that lasted a three full hours. I suspect it was multiple single cell storms but the overall effect was very impressive.
  2. Was awoken by very heavy rain in Central London Loud thunder followed Not sure of time but probably between 1am and 4am Most oppresive day of the year by far today after very uncomfortable night
  3. Bit late but there was a minor cell in Central London at around 4 pm some light rain and one flash of lightning and one long rumble of thunder bit tame really.
  4. Looks like it's quite a severe storm developing No rain yet here though
  5. Storm now over Central London - the first of the day (although we had distant thunder earlier) To the west of Central London, flooding has been a problem with parts of the underground system closed because of this problem.
  6. Lightning and light rain in the london area. Bit of a damp squib really if the radar can be relied.
  7. Lightning, Thunder and Torrential Rain in Central London Very gusty winds as well Not pleasant
  8. Heavy rain, lightning and thunder at Earls Court a little eariler.
  9. Seems to have brightened up and dryed up in central london now. Maybe we will see play at Wimbledon today.
  10. Welcome CRACKPOT to NW Snow heavier in Central London now and has started to blow about which leads me to believe it's more snow than the sleet that came down in a straight line earlier. Seems yet again parts of Wales have hit the JACKPOT eh CRACKPOT?
  11. seems to have turned mainly to rain here You're a very lucky lad duncan - I guess this must be the best winter you've had given the fledgling nature of your being (that means you are quite young)
  12. Snow not settling here Looks like from the available data that colder air is digging in behind the front - Much of the south/south east/midlands are in a borderline situation at present
  13. Sleety snow now falling in Central London Dewpoint is OK, but ground temps too high for settling snow at present
  14. just had a very brief but heavy snow shower here settled on cars and trees but roads and pavements are wet 2nd best event of the winter for central london with 3 hours to go till spring
  15. I would - but they've shut the Tower down now - so not worth it. Still intermitent snow flurries in central london - not sure of temperature but feels milder than last two days. I think snow would have settled yesterday morning had it fell
  16. Stopped now - made all surfaces wet so little chance of anything later settling either IMO
  17. Quite heavy (but fine) snow in central london presently. Clouds are very laden with snow. Not sure it will settle I think we have been just above freezing all night
  18. very light snow near st pauls catherdral at 6.05am this morning. Not enough to settle or even make the ground wet if it melted.
  19. Moderate Snow (but small fine flakes) falling in central london
  20. Welcome to NW durham snow - looks like you could have a snowy week ahead of you. Rain/sleet showers in central London - quite a temperature drop in the showers so if a heavy one comes along I would be surprised to see some wet snow mixed in too.
  21. Central London P*$$ing down Just got soaked with that really fine stuffs that feels like it's nothing.
  22. Witnessed most amazing turnaround in weather conditions in life. In 5 mins, light rain turned to heavy sleet to blizzard conditions. Snow started to accumalate but has now stopped and is melting rapidly.
  23. Just popped out on Snow Patrol(!) in Bond Street, London W1 First raindrops from front are falling. Sky is laden to all points north. Windy doesn't feel that cold. Estimate temp to be 1-2C higher in central london than 2-3 miles out so expect rain and sleet.
  24. Great to hear eveyones posts - glad he majority seem to have got some snow. None here in Central London overnight and I'm not holding my breath for the band of PPN approaching. Sleet or non settling snow at best.
