  1. Hmm, ok thanks, now tomorrow night, I'm at Sheffield Speedway, Machine Examining/Equipment Scrutineering, will it be a washout? Is their Thunderstorm potenrisk for Owlerton, Sheffield from say 5pm?
  2. What can of changed between earlier BBC forecasts with thunderstorms, to now, only an hours difference and the T word has been lost, replaced by thundery rain?
  3. Well this threads doing an impression of tonight's weather................................. All quiet!!
  4. Well, no queezy tummy today = no lightning today, confirmed. Even though they scare me to death, I do crave them from time to time.... So to recap, mostly dreary, dank sort of day, occasional breaks when the sun burnt through the gank, Which caused the temp to peak out at 21.2c, but not as humid as yesterday.. then around 19:30 we had a ten minute downpour of warm, big spotted rain, but alas, no electrical activity in it whatsoever! Leicesters Lightning Shield at full power yet again! Wonder if an import will sneak up to us in the early hours.......???
  5. 15:47 Now no strike plotted on blitzortung yet to clarify, What's classed a the standard time frame from strike to map?
  6. I have had/have in the past, just about every lightning plotter/detector/storm tracking app on the planet! Usually more than one going at the same time.... What's everyone's opinions on these...? Accurate/Not as to a strike actually occurring, and strike location accuracy or not, and whole clusters of strikes being plotted well out of place sometimes.... Which ones the best do you think....?
  7. Seems that I'm not alone with this total fear of lightning/thunder..! I thought I was perhaps one of very few.. Night storms are the biggest part of my Achilles Heel, but we don't seem to get them as much as we did in the late 1960's and 1970's or is that just physiological?
  8. Just watched BBC lunchtime news, absolutely no mention whatsoever of the battering Wales received yesterday! Not a blooming jot.. is it because they failed to forecast this/issue any warnings yyesterday and so are in total denial mode of the storms yesterday...??
  9. Hi all! My interest in weather stems from the fact that I am absolutely terrified of thunderstorms, have been since I can remember, and I'm 50 now!!! I have an inbuilt thunder alarm, I get very queezy when storms are heading my way, up to a good few hours before, most of the time. Obviously lightning is dangerous, but it really really worries me when we get it.. if I can, I try to find a car to sit in, even when I'm say at home! It also fascinates me as well, nearly to obsession level... Is this normal/common or rare do you think.....?
  10. Hi all, just joined netweather, I'm another one from thunderless Leicester..... I reckon if the sun can break through the gahch, we might get something late afternoon/early evening... Otherwise I think we'll draw a blank on this one.. Cheers Speedway Slider.
