  1. Had a cracking storm here over the past hour or so. Lots of overhead lightning and some seriously loud, booming rumbles. Quite violent compared to the others MK has had so far this year I'd say!
  2. Knowing my luck the storms will arrive just as I sit down for dinner again!
  3. Very nice, Supacell! Hoping I can get to a good viewing point for today's storms, assuming MK has some again. Fingers crossed!
  4. MK cell is pushing north east now I think. Still giving a few rumbles. Would be interested to know if anyone got a good look at the structures at the base of the cloud. It was quite interesting at times from what I could see.
  5. Anyone else got eyes on the MK cell at the moment? I'm pretty sure I'm seeing rotation!
  6. Some rumbles here in Milton Keynes now. Very dark skies to the west!
  7. Me too. Very interesting. Seems like it's just paused here.
  8. Still some rumbles in the distance but not as frequently as earlier it seems.
  9. Did anyone in MK manage to get a view of that storm in all directions? I could only see bits and pieces of it. A lot of it was changing shape very, very fast. Think there may have been a funnel cloud in the distance but very brief, only for a few seconds.
  10. A very mean-looking cell to my east at the moment. Just let out a big boom as I was typing the first sentence. There was a shelf cloud visible a few minutes ago but it has been obscured by the haze.
  11. Had a great view of that storm that passed by Milton Keynes last night. Lots of lightning and nearly constant thunder for quite a while. The skies afterwards were spectacular too. Took these ones from Whaddon, a really nice little bit of countryside just around the corner from MK. Great place for watching storms, although I probably wouldn't be standing by those power lines if there was one right overheard! Fingers crossed for more!
  12. Not had any thunder here in Milton Keynes yet but the sky has been spectacular this afternoon. Big mean cell from the north west just went by while another one to the south had an overshooting top bubbling up. Could have sworn there was a bit of rotation in the nearest of the two.

Not sure if this is the first one I've seen as I think I may have seen one in the autumn last year but this is the first one I've got shots of! Taken in Corfe Castle earlier today.

  16. Quite surprised at just how good last night was! I was slap bang in the middle of it. Well, that's what it seemed like. Flashes to the east and west and loads directly above too. Had a very, very heavy rain shower at one point too. This might be a silly question (or one that's already been answered) but were any of these storms supercells? I don't have a great deal of technical weather knowledge. Not as much as some of the other people in this thread!
  17. Things are starting to look pretty interesting here. Altocumulus to the south and bubbling up quite quickly! https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/21293-altocumulus/ https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/21294-altocumulus/ https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/21295-altocumulus/
  18. Thanks! Hoping that there will be some more action here later. Saw some amazing strikes to the west during the early hours yesterday but that was pretty much it. If I could have a storm like that monster that hit the north west of England last night, I would be very, very happy!
  19. Some interesting developments here already. https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/21290-morning-sky-2nd-july/ https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/21291-morning-sky-2nd-july/
  20. Hey hey! Those are the ones I photographed too! Sky changed so quickly here tonight, didn't it?
