Sleeting here a few miles in land in Eythorne. Still no hope of it laying as its very wet on the ground. Fingers crossed for some colder conditions coming into play through the day. Good luck all.

Just chipping in as I noticed the mention of SAD on this SE thread.
I noticed a few years back during the darker months I was lacking energy and often had a pretty lousy mood. I'd gotten past teenage moodswings and this felt much more like a mild depression which seemed to recur every winter.
Not that it will work for everyone, but I tried taking occasional vitamin D supplements (available on amazon - I chose to use the vitabiotics ones but there's plenty available), and they had a profoundly positive effect on both my mindset and physical energy level. Please, if you're feeling a bit down and haven't tried these, or sun-lamp, give it a go. It doesn't stop the pessimistic thoughts of - 'bloody heck will this rain never end?!' But at least you might smile about it.
Fingers crossed for some high pressure and clear frosty winter days soon ey.

Unbelievable amount of rain in this part of kent, far more than last year!! Anyone have the latest stats?
Just thinking the same. It has been raining non stop all day today and not just drizzle either. Definitely going to see widespread flooding across the SE this evening and it's forecast to go on until the early hours...

Love all the 'what storm' chat in the main Ciarán thread.. from folks in the Midlands where it was never forecast to be bad! Gusts seem pretty severe here in Kent. Hope it calms down soon as the new fence (concrete posts) is now definitely leaning and flexing a bit
Yep.. done for!

Highest gust here so far 69 mph, sometime between 6/7 am. Doesn't seem to have calmed any, wish I had my own station to be honest.

Really strong gusts now felt on the east Kent coast in Deal. House shaking slightly. Definitely getting started. Girlfriend has decided to brave the rail commute into London despite the warnings on service - no doubt will need picking up from somewhere remote a bit later on. Sigh. Thankful to be working from home. Stay safe.

I was talking locally, but yep somewhere in land that stays east of what's coming up from France now, to trigger storms later, will probably get that high.
Yeah, I'm not sure what out maximum was yesterday being coastal, but there wasn't much of a breeze at all, got quite misty again just before sunset.

22 at 8:00 to spite a mist, today is going to be our hottest day I reckon, in the SE corner.
Was just thinking the same, set up looks really hit for the SE corner. Wouldn't be surprised if Heathrow sees a 33 today at peak.

Chance of storm in Manston tomorrow ?
I would say early hours like 3-6am. Might be better before the dawn - more visible lightning!

I’ll try to give you some of my stormy luck then
Aye, I might be a little too far east as it seems to all be moving north, but the block of storms behind the front has some lovely depth on radar. Hope you get a good show!
