A few flakes drifting down in the wind. 1/10 Deal.

That's what I thinking, to far over, cracking end to winter though
Thanet -3.6c
Quite right too, lots of freezing weather and so late in the season. A memorable cold snap and I've seen falling snow a few times this week for the first time in years! Good show 17/18.

What I hope we are seeing as regards the radar stalling, is the warm air moving and manipulating the cold airmass it hits. As it is pushed further north, I'd expect snow to break out more widely, albeit stillmlightly in some places.
What I suspect I'm seeing is that I live TOO FAR EAST and will have diddly squat on top of my zilch.
Still, I'm excited for whatever the day brings.
Deal, East Kent.

Nothing yet in Deal. Fingers crossed we see something from this...

C'mon! I want my pretty back! I want to catch pokemon in the snow! I want a snow day!

Seems to be a fair amount of convective activity and cloudbuilding over East Kent right now. Nothing really showing up on the radar, but if it was backbuilding a little in the estuary and the wind really does now have a northerly element.. it's possible Kent may see some more snow soon.

Same here in Deal with the dusting. I wonder how Thursday/Friday will go.

and south, missing dover again.
Ten feet in Sandwich, zilch in Deal ? I think our chance might be later on this week, although the light flurries have been welcome.

Very impressive! I’ve just seen Benson in south Oxfordshire is now down to -10c.
Does.. does this mean we are colder currently than the Arctic? I'm sure I read somewhere they had recorded consecutive temps of -8?

For those in East Kent (Sandwich, Deal, Dover, Folkestone etc) It looks like there are a few showers out in the channel that might find their way to us in an hour or two. Hit or miss and they don't have much intensity, but every little helps!

I can see them as well, touching distance but the streamers are in the wrong location for most of kent unlike the early hours - Yes some places are getting hammered
Just north of Deal they are! Frustrating as it is... Still epic to know that we are collectively getting a dumping.

Some great glowing cloudscapes about tonight off the East Kent coast. Incoming!
-
Had hardly any snow after 10am in Deal, just now starting to see a build up of showers coming in from the channel. Had a heavy fall of tiny polystyrene, now clearing. Radar looks good for East Kent folk.

Like a hardened crackhead I'm now browsing buienradar.nl to work out when I might get my next fix of the flakey white stuff!

Snowing readily again in Deal, although light. Hope this lasts the day.

Morning all. I was disappointed last night as the streamer missed east Kent (Deal) as expected. Not even a dusting as I went to bed at 10:30! Not much when I woke this morning but thankfully in the last hour about half a centimetre has settled! This isn't a moan, I'm genuinely chuffed to see anything as we've missed out year on year. Sounds like elsewhere in Kent did fantastically though so all I say is well done and long may it continue!

It's depressing in old Thanet! Im hoping, that seeing as the radar delivered more than anticipated over this morning in some parts, we are likely to see at least a covering over the next couple of days! Please god!
Deal isn't much better off..

I'm rooting for you guys down there in SE. You deserve it. Deal in Kent, my favourite place in the summer months.
My hometown! A few flakes falling here, nothing on the ground as yet, still many days to go!

Radar looks great for today.
Bigger flakes, 5p size falling in Deal now. On and off flurries.

Glad to see you got back in plenty of time for the fun and games then Mr Murr!

Light flurry confirmed in Deal. Hope Dover folk can get in on the action next..

Literally, 4 snowflakes. Half convinced I imagined them ? big cloud has gone now, back to the smaller scudders. Fingers frozen crossed.

Ooo this next cloud looks a bit more beefy. Lots of small scudders that couldn't coat a gnat with graupel.. we need more of the big dark mothership kind. It's going dark.
